I'm guessing you are talking about me. I didn't mean it as a joke. I'm half German; over the last 16 years I have been in Germany during as many World and Euro Cups as I have been in the US. I was pulling for a draw.

Nah, didn't even see your earlier post - just having fun with my earlier haiku post and the fact that some Americans don't understand how you can draw/lose in certain games and still advance.

It wasn't pretty, but a couple months ago when groups were announced I had zero hope the US would make it out, so I'll take it. I like their chances against Belgium.

I haven't followed soccer since I was the goalie in peewee league, but Chicago sorts is as dry as the Sahara right now, so I'm enjoying the diversion. Bears some resemblance to hockey. I can dig it.
Mexico has outplayed the Dutch all game long up until this second cooling break. Seems like Mexico wants it more and their goalie is ballin and looks like he would play keys in an electronic indie rock band. Robben keeps threatening, and he looks like a bass player or maybe lead singer for a metal band. It'll be interesting to see how this one turns out.

Prior to the US v Germany game, I've never watched more then 20 minutes of soccer in my life. I've watched the US/Germany, Brazil/Chile, and Costa Rica/Greece games in entirety now.
Have to say, they've all been enjoyable games to watch. I'm not a big sports fan most of the time, but I could see myself watching World Cups and other major tournies.
Mexico definitely deserved to win that. They just couldn't finish.
Glad that Costa Rica will live to play again. Hoping they handle the Dutch easily.

Shhhh... let me hope. I have 280 baht that depends on them winning. The Dutch did not look very impressive versus Mexico. And Costa Rica looked quite alright, especially considering they were playing a man down.

What are you talking about? Costa Rica played for around an hour with only 10 men and Greece failed to capitalize.
