they added the Sunday show first as the after-party for the festival. That sold out instantly so they added Saturday too. Unfortunately it appears that is sold out too. If you are interested in going, I'd encourage you finding a way to get a ticket. Sinclair is a great venue and undersized for FT's popularity so it should be a fun time.

Probably won't at this point. There's a bunch of us, so that would be like 6-8 tickets with secondary market prices.

Check out Google street view of City Hall Plaza! By chance they last updated when they were setting up for last year! Kinda cool and especially random because I was on there showing a coworker where the festival takes place. "Oh that's weird, there is fencing along the edge of the beer prison. Oh that's weird as well, there are portos at that spot year round? Oh! Is that the Boston Calling banner where one of the entrances are??"

Just a heads up for out of towners coming this weekend: the T station at Government Center is closed for renovations until 2016. You'll have to walk from either Park St., Haymarket, or State.

On the bright side, the T is now open until 3am on the weekends!

No, my friends booked it. I just never asked details. I am heading to their place in Worcester right after work and riding with them up, so it never occurred to me to ask. I think they were talking about the Copley Marriott originally, but I have no idea if that is where they booked...

This is super last minute, but if anyone has an extra ticket for tonight and doesn't wanna see it go to waste, message me. I've got a buddy who would go but won't pay too much...I know a good number of people are opting out of Friday, so I figured maybe someone would like to have a ticket taken off their hands.

I'm considering going to the September dates. The National is one of my favorite bands and I wish I didn't miss NMH this year. I'll only have lived in the area for a little over a week. Any advice?

Go. It's a really well-run festival and this is it's best lineup yet. Seeing NMH and the National back to back will be incredible. I live in the area but I go back to school in NYC the weekend before the festival...and I'm coming back home for it. For you, it'll serve as a sort of "Welcome to Massachusetts" celebration
Definitely go! I've been to all three and have enjoyed myself every time (but won't be able to make this fall). And with those two being on the same day and the availability of day tickets, you can easily just get that one day if you're not interested in the rest of the weekend.

Thanks guys! I'm considering only going Friday and Saturday but I might just go all three days. I've already seen the 1975 and Twenty One Pilots so there aren't many draws for me Sunday.

I'm looking forward to it now!
You should do yourself a favor and really dig into the other bands on Sunday, because it is genuinely stacked

It might end up being a logistics issue for me; I'm going to college in Amherst and don't have my own car, so I'm still not sure whether I'm going to commute from Amherst every day or stay somewhere in Boston. I'm sure I'll figure it out closer to the fest though. I would love to go Sunday (I know how awesome Nas x the Roots is going to be and I just love festivals in general) but there's nothing that is making me dying to go (for example, the entire reason I was interested to begin with is the National, who I am crazy about haha).

Just purchased my ticket today. So many names on the billing I have never seen who I've been dying to see. Future Islands, Volcano Choir, The MAts, The Roots, Lorde, NMH, and Girl Talk. I'm sure the weekend will be great, as I can just sleep over the gf's college suite in Cambridge. Excited to see how the festival compares to the bigger ones I've been to. I've never been to a festival where no set times overlap.

It's so incredibly not stressful! You still have to worry about if you want to get a good spot for one stage and see shows far from the other- or switch back and forth and get so-so spots for them all, but it's amazing how much easy breezy the day is.

We're getting close!
I seem to recall reading somewhere that Nas x The Roots will be performing Illmatic entirely before The Roots play some of their own tunes. Can anybody confirm this? I'm also interested to see whether those two acts do a bunch of shows together or if this is maybe a special booking for Boston Calling, which would be the first unique get for the festival, near as I can tell. I've found that Nas is doing a tour for the 20th anniversary of Illmatic, but I haven't seen that The Roots are joining him on it.
(Also, I wasn't really familiar with Illmatic before doing research for BC, but wow is its reputation deserved.)
