I have heard him. It takes more than a spectacle to get me to a show. There has to be another reason. Such as enjoying or even being on the fence about the music. What he is like or at least his persona is simply just another reason not to see him. The important and most heavily weighted is not enjoying the music, at all. The best part about this thread is that the poll is overwhelmingly pro-Kanye, yet the comments are filled with the old timers raging against the dying of their relevance.

I refer to his persona because I do not know him personally, so I was trying to be fair in regards to how he comes across to me. Maybe he is a great person and just says and does some of the things he says and does for the publicity.
And I never said that all the people I listen to are upstanding citizens. I have heard Colin Meloy is a real piece of work...but I do enjoy his music quite a bit, so I listen to it. Again, it is a combination of not liking BOTH Kanyes personality AND his music that leads me to not care to see him at Roo or anywhere else. For example, I do not enjoy Tools music either, but I sat at the back of main stage and gave it a listen. Still didn't like it. I know Maynard is pretty eccentric in his own right. I do not go out of my way to see what Kanye or Maynard have to say. But from what I have heard I do not like Kanye. I am sure there is an artist out there that I enjoy that you do not. To say that you not liking that artist because I (and a lot of others do) is ridiculous, would be ridiculous.

This is not the Kanye appreciation thread. If I am not going to be at the set I thought it warranted an explanation. Something I thought you would appreciate since you jump all over people for not having a reason for their positions. If my explanation was not good enough for you, oh well. I tried. It is not a badge of honor...whatever that means in this scenario. I do not not like his music not even enough to check him out on the main stage, if I can help it. I have gone on record several times saying I didn't think yeezus was a good album, and I would skip his show at Roo for any number of other potential performers, and I have yet to be called a mouth breathing cretin by anyone as far as I am aware.
The mouth breathing and cretin comments were mentioned along the way and not to me directly. But it was thrown out there that it was ridiculous that I did not like Kanye Wests music. It is just interesting to me that even in this thread, that is not meant just for Kanye fans. People are taking quite an offense at some that legitimately have no interest in seeing him perform. That's all Dave, nothing more. It's all good in the neighborhood. :-)

I would argue that there are plenty of people being inappropriate on the other side as well. I just don't see what it is about him that makes it necessary to argue back and forth for what seems like years over him.
