So I guess I didn't really have that many rules last year. Anyway, here's how it works:
You pick one album per band that you think people should start out with to learn about that band. I tally the votes, and when I arbitrarily decide a consensus has been reached, I add that album to the OP. Discussion and argument is encouraged. A good tiebreaker is usually which album is more likely to show up on the setlist at Roo. If a band only has one major release, let me know so I don't waste my time tallying votes!

Here are some of my votes:
Kanye West - Late Registration Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare Fitz and the Tantrums - Pickin' Up The Pieces Pusha T - My Name is My Name Mastodon - Leviathan White Denim - D Deafheaven - Sunbather
Sarah Jarosz- Follow Me Down Carolina Chocolate Drops- Genuine Negro Jig Shovels & Rope- O' Be Joyful Elton John- Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Drive-By Truckers- Southern Rock Opera Big Sam's Funky Nation- King of the Party
First set of votes are tallied up, I'll let some more votes build up before making the initial list.
Bookkeeping: -andymac is showing ya'll how its done! -Delicious Meatball Sub Use text instead of pictures so I can ctrl+f for stuff!!! -We already have votes for 64 bands! That's more than half the lineup! Good job! -Don't forget, if you agree with someone else's vote, quote it or second it or add it to your list or whatever so I can build a CONSENSUS!

Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Cloud Nothings - Attack On Memory Drive-By Truckers - Dirty South Janelle Monae - ArchAndroid Ty Segall - Twins Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!
For Damon Albarn, wait until his album is formally released. There may be a few blur and Gorillaz songs which are worked in, but listening to those bands won't really help you with what his show will sound like.
This is just going to turn into everybody throwing out their favorite albums for each artist and anyone trying to wade through it will have no way of knowing whose tastes they will identify most with. Because of this, I've created a personality test to determine if we like the same shit, and thus have a 10% higher chance of liking similar music. On my list, I avoided bands that only have one record or the one I'd recommend is just painfully obvious.
If you're into the following things, proceed to my list of starter albums:
old war films fantasy novels racquetball spiced rum tiramasu expensive board games mountains supa hot fire and the classic stage production, "Les miserables"

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
