I started writing this and it was turning into the Band-A-Day writeup, so I deleted all of it and just say: I hope to see many of you at their show at 'Roo this year. I love everything they've ever done -- just about -- until The Terror last year. I thought Embryonic was fantastic, but starting with the "year of collaboration" in 2011, I am not really digging the direction things have been going, both musically and with Wayne's behavior/attitude/etc. However, I am excited and happy that my favorite band is still alive and kicking after 30+ years of existence and is always doing something new.

If you're a fan of me, you're a fan of your motherquackin' self.
The Terror is awesome. I also liked that they toned down on the bells and whistles in the live show. I've always enjoyed the albums but the live show had grown stale.

I agree with all of that. I have listened to the Terror dozens of times to try to "get" it, but I just can't. Maybe one day. Not yet. I get more enjoyment out of last year's Peace Sword EP.

Why don't you like it? It's weird and creepy and great.

I saw them down in Mexico with MMJ at One Big Holiday and their show was great! I also got the chance to meet Wayne coin and he was the nicest guy you'll ever meet, so down to earth I felt like I was talking with a close friend. I can't wait to see them again at Roo!
Honestly Id be alot more excited for this show if they were still doing the old stage show.. I've seen them twice with the new Terror stage set up and I just don't enjoy the show as much. It's too droney and gets very boring... I'm not saying the bells and whistles of the old show are really essential; because it is about the music in the end.. But I just don't enjoy hearing slow and downbeat versions of songs I love.

The songs are too monotonous (You Lust, holy shiz) and drone-y. Also not a huge fan of most of the vocals throughout, not to mention the lyrical quality.

I feel like I'm the only person around here who's still never seen them yet. Somehow it's just never happened and this is one of my most anticipated shows all weekend although knowing my luck they'll close out the which before Kanye or something and I'll have to miss them again.

I'd bet money that they'll be a LN set so I wouldn't worry.

Originally I thought the same but with Skrillex, Kaskade, and the Skrilly superjam I'm starting to get concerned.

I think I am missing the cause of your concern..
Ha it's not that I want to see them just that I don't know how scheduling will work since they're all bands big enough to be on the Which but there can only be so many scheduled in that spot per night which means they may put the lips before Kanye or Jack on the which.

I don't think the Skrillex set and the Skrillex superjam will be on the same night. Also isn't the superjams usually in tents? Plus the Lips will most likely get the Which, I don't think the same for Kaskade. Of course this is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I'm actually kind of reverse. I didn't really like Embryonic but loved all their collaborations and The Terror. Their 6-hour song (I Found a Star on the Ground) was complete shit, though. The 24 hour song (7 Skies H3) was actually really good albeit really (and obviously) drawn out.
Since their stage show is stripped down but still in need of darkness, I think they'll get either a Foster the People or The xx spot on the Which Stage before one of the big EDM names. I'd also like to hope that they have some special surprises for the Bonnaroo crowd (as they usually do) in terms of the set list.

I found the 6 hour song to be rather dull, however I think 7 Skies H3 is fantastic. And there are some gems that came out of the collaborations, both the EPs and Heady Fwends, but overall they're mostly forgettable.

They are LN. I said this in another thread I hope they are last to play on which. They would surly use the extended time to do some special things. If the sun was coming up and they were playing I will be shedding tears. Fuck I will probably cry no matter what. 2010 was one of the biggest "game changing" shows I have ever been too and the first time I ever saw them unfortunately. Since then I have seen them 10+ times and are my 2nd fav band. I am a person who generally likes happy, upbeat music when I go to shows cause I like to smile and dance so "The Terror" was extremely different coming from them. But its good. All in all get ready for a special show and if they have anything to do with the "?" superjam it's over, they know/do a million covers (stone roses/floyd/beatles/and more).
I had been on the fence about The Terror, having really liked it as an album but not really excited to see that material live. Their set in mexico blew me away though. Their beatles covers were sublime, I lost my shit during she's so heavy.
