Thanks man. You gotta know I don't care, but between my daughter's and jabco's old lady's considerations, you know how it is. If a cabin is scored, then bathroom/shower requirements are met. But we won't know until September. And the cost seems relatively low until the 16th, particularly when it's looking like I'm going to have to shell out for 4.
Edit to thank Scrog.
VIP means indoor plumbing for showers, A/C bathrooms, short drink lines and stage left at whichever one is in the field. Your camp is wherever you make it in the VIP area. Entrance is a short walk into the field with the stage I cannot think of.
Either way don't miss the main bathhouse at dusk. Something one rarely gets to see.
Until a few months ago I've never even heard of SOSMP and I've lived an hour south of it (gainesville) for the past 4 years O.O oh well I'm goin to hulaween and bears creek EEEEEEEEEEE!!!
This site is my new fav, it's like my online farm )
Ended up getting the VIP without the chef option. We were in line for a cabin. But they don't tell you apparently until September. And I wanted to pull the trigger before the prices went up. I'd be perfectly happy with ga but it'll be my daughter's first time hitting a camping fest. There is a ton of stuff I will see between now and November, but I'm pretty psyched for bear creek. Saw Earphunk tonight at tips. Good ass show
I've never been able to get a cabin. It's supposed to be really easy to get one for the Purple Hatters Ball, which I've never been able to make happen because of proximity to Hangout.
Very small crowd with everyone gettin' schwilly racin' around in golfcarts, sounds f'n awesome.
Yeah I called the day after last year's fest and am apparently 9th on the waiting list. But they don't start making calls until September the lady told me. Figured it was unlikely anyhow.

I'm in for this one! We do Spring Fest every year with a very large group (60+ with full families), but we're making this one a "no children / no spouses" event. This is exciting for me because it means I get a spot in one of the 2 RV's we have going down. The electric hookups means I'll also get to bring my electric guitar instead of the acoustic. Hopefully, we can get a full band jamming in our campsite again. Last years Spring Fest, we had Nathan Moore & Elephant Revival jamming. This year, the Rumpke Mountain Boys & David Gans played untill the wee hours. For Bear Creek, we're hoping for horns. Evidently, the secret is to have a lot of lasers aimed up into the trees. Let's watch...

Good choice! Opt for an RV instead. I don't recall on site hookups but with the weather it's more to sleep comfortably.

They have nice on site hookups, I called this week just to check availability and they indicated there were still "plenty" left.
Yeah, last year some friends of mine rented RVs and camped in the RV lots where the loop road is across from the gate by the music hall. They had all electric and water hookups and really clean showers and bathrooms nearby too. We even found a small clearing across from their rv site and were able to park the car and setup tents right by them. It was a different experience for me from the year prior camping in the fields by the bat house, but it was really close to every stage except the campground stage. Even that stage was just a 10 min walk through the road behind the music hall and shortcut camp. Things get pretty quiet late at night over there though, much different crowd than the primitive sites, but still a lot of fun.

Yeah ... I meant in the VIP camping area he chose but maybe you meant there also. After it rained one night and I slept in the car due to my tent's waterproofing giving out I thought to myself : "Self ... rent an RV next time for a little more than you paid for the tent that failed".
I'm assuming the treehouse is WAY expensive to rent?

I have no idea about the VIP camping area...most of the people I camped by that were in RVs had VIP laminates though. Not sure what advantages there are to camping in the VIP camp, honestly I have yet to even venture to explore that part of the park.

It was not crowded and has permanent indoor plumbing. Other than that just older crowd and more quiet.
welp... Just found out my beloved Primus is playing less than an hour away from me on Nov 14th so I am backing out of Bear Creek. If anyone needs a discounted pass let me know.

Definitely considering this. Been wanting to get to Suwannee for a while, LOVE Budos and New Mastersounds, and I just realized its only a 12-13 hour ride from Pittsburgh to Live Oak, so not much worse than Boston. Plus Pretty Purdie, George Porter and Pee Wee Ellis? Holy crap. Gotta pay down some bills but this sound like a pretty great last festival of the fall...

This is the year I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this fest. I talked a big game last year after hearing Scrog talk it up and really had planned to attend but things went to shit pretty fast in my life around that time and stayed that way for a bit so no joy. The last fest I attended was Boomslang 2013 in Lexington KY and that fest was almost impossible. There were reasons I absolutely had to make Boomslang and cut BC that year
I really don't mean to sound like I'm singing a first world blues song but this has just been one shit awful year. I really need to recharge my positive energy batteries. I don't know allot about the bands playing. I'm not a funk junky and for the last 5 years or so my mission has not been to explore strange new funks, or to seek out new funks and new Funk'lizations. Although the idea of boldly funking where no man has funked before is very appealing.
SO I'm pretty sure I'm going this year but I got the jitters. I'll be going it alone because noone I know in my new locale will commit despite their reassurances of giving it "some thought". As a n00b going it alone I have some questions. Well, really only 1 the rest I'll figure out or be educated on when I get there.
Are you allowed to show up on Wed night/afternoon? I'm not seeing that info anywhere on the official site.
