With the schedule rearranged, I'm torn between Grouplove and dbt. I think ill go dbt bc I wanna see phosphorescent afterward, but its hard to decide.
Grouplove live is basically like skydiving on acid. Everything is coming at you in this ridiculous sensory blur and the absurdity of it all will either overwhelm you or leave you filled with a beautiful, life-affirming joy. They're so alive, so human, so wonderfully strange. There's this sense of whimsy and recklessness to what they do, it's great.

Seasick Steve (He's unique and looks to be a fun show - John Paul Jones will be playing bass) I'm pretty sure Classixx are playing twice in the Silent Disco throughout the weekend. AM & Shawn Lee Real Estate Not sure about Greensky Bluegrass/Hunter Hunted as I don't plan on catching either of these shows. Maybe I should?

Seasick Steve Robert DeLong - Fun and danceable, a good way to kick off Thursday I prefer MS MR over Real Estate
As for the last conflict, I don't think you can really go wrong. All of these bands will continue to tour extensively and appear on the festival circuit, and they all put on decent shows. Personally I'd stay at What just because I'm usually exhausted on Sunday and would likely want to stay put.
James Blake, he is more rare to see. Also I was a little disappointed in Cut Copy at Mtn Oasis last year. Love their music but the live show was just solid nothing mind blowing like inforoo makes it out to be.
their live show touring right now is totally different from what they did at Mtn Oasis. And much better.
Blake! I finally got his early EPs and theyre awesome too. I cant wait to hear the blasts of noise in Retrograde & I Never Learnt to Share in person.
yeah I ended up settling on my opinion that he just makes better/more interesting music than cut copy.
I agree. James blake lost to chromeo>cut copy on the which with a good spot. But he def wins versus cut copy by themselves. Also theyre touring and he's really not.

Both Greensky Bluegrass and Hunter Hunted were new listens for me. I'd like to catch them both. Hunter Hunted plays at another time slot as well, but I'm pretty sure that would create another conflict for me.

Cut Copy/Lauryn Hill/James Blake is just the worst. Is Lauryn Hill still on her game? Also how likely is she to come one super late?
Lauryn doesn't have the voice she once had, but her live show is still very high energy, and very good. She does a lot of Fugees, and a lot of recognizable covers (famous Marley Tracks, I only have eyes for you, the occasional soul tune) as well as Miseducation stuff.
If you're into Fugees, this shouldn't be missed. I'll be there.

Just checked out DJ Quickie Mart and now I'm debating skipping Robert Delong and ZZ Ward for him. I could catch Robert Delong's DJ set later in the evening. Why do I keep checking out new artist when my schedule is already full!!!!????

In past years, I resolved conflicts by relying on factors including who I liked better, who I hadn't seen before, and who I had other chances to see elsewhere.
This year, I will let the gods decide my fate. I demand a trial by combat!

I always resolve my conflicts with "Who do I listen to more often?". It's an honest question to ask yourself when trying to decide. For me personally, I like James Blake and would love to see his set - but Cut Copy never leaves my iPod.. So I gotta go with them.

I have nothing to do Friday between 6:30 and Midnight now that Kanye is playing Made. I now get to see Animals as Leaders, get to check out the Full Service Party at The Barn, and maybe even Tiki Disco at the Silent Disco all before "Settle"ing in at a prime spot for Disclosure.

I'm still not sure what to do about flaming lips and the skrillex superjam. I absolutely love the flips AND I've never seen them live, but on the other hand we have the super unique skrillex superjam. I'm sooo torn by this. I want to see the flips soooo bad but I don't want to miss something as unique and crazy as the superjam. I know I would have a blast at both shows, I just don't know what to do.

This is one of my hardest choices to make as well...I may start out at the super jam and then check out the last part of the flaming lips.

You have to go with the Super Jam, in my opinion. You'll never in your life get to see that combination of artists play together again. But, if you're having fun, you can't go wrong. Can't wait for roo!!

I definitely understand the appeal of the skrillex superjam, but there are plenty of reasons not to go. I have nothing against EDM or whatever skrillex is classified as, but it really isn't my thing. While it would be cool to see members of some of my favorite classic bands (Kreiger and Hart), it's not like they're Morrison and Jer Bear and any classic songs they play would likely be fused with computer noises from Mr. Skrillex. Believe me, I know that with all the other artists involved this superjam has the potential to be the highlight of the festival for many, maybe even most people. I will be spending my time at NB&TBS and DARKSIDE.
Now you said that you think you will have blast at both and that you've never seen the Flips before. If you're a regular concert goer, then you will likely have more chances to see them and you should go to the superjam. But if you don't see many shows and really love the Flips, I'd say see them since you will likely have more of a personal connection to the show than the superjam.
Sounds like you will have a great time at either so don't fret too much. Hope this helped!
Only 3 notable conflicts with the current schedule for us -
Lionel Richie vs Lauren Hill vs Chromeo
FLIPS vs Nick Cave
Superjam ? vs Disclosure
That first one is tough. If you're a Richie fan, I think you'll be able to get a really good spot (pit, probably) because of all the notable conflicts at that time slot. Otherwise I'd go with Lauryn Hill for the nostalgia factor. I'm really kinda bummed I won't be seeing her. Chromeo is on tour now and probably will be for a bit.
I'd go with Nick Cave. While I don't personally care for his music, I don't think his set will be crowded and the general consensus around here is that his show's gonna be awesome.
Go to Disclosure, because the less people at Superjam ?, the better spot I'll have. =)

this is probably what I will end up doing. I always try to go for full sets, but I think this will be a happy compromise. Start at superjam, then leave to watch the last hour of the flaming lips. I do plan on catching a flaming lips show in July but I just can't bring myself to not see them on the farm.

This is my exact plan, and this is exactly what I expect to happen. Well, either that our I arrive too late to the super jam, can't see anything, get frustrated and just settle on the f'lips

Sent from my SGH-T599N using proboards
Last year I ended up right behind the soundboard for the Jim James and John Oates superjam and I couldn't see much of anything. However that didn't matter because I was having an EARGASIM from what I was hearing on stage.
I hope even If I can't see much at this superjam, the sound is still so amazing that I don't mind it
God damn cory's beard for showing me Kins. What do I do Thursday night now? Pusha T or Kins. Pusha will definitely put on a good show, but Kins music is so good.
if it helps your conflict did u see where Kins is playing Ford tent at noon Friday?
I got excited to see this post because Kins/Pusha is a conflict for me too...but I can't miss brunch. Womp womp.
