Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The metal tent is a huge draw for me because I think a full LN of metal will be an incredible experience. I think Meshuggah especially will be crazy times, because it won't be a heavily attended show but enough insane people will be there to make it a lot of fun. I have seen Mastodon a handful of times and love them, saw Meshuggah once and loved it, an epic show I talk about all the time, and I have not seen Deafheaven, but I dig Sunbather.
Skrillex is a huge draw for me because I just can't get enough of the guy. I've seen him 6-7 times now, but I love the new record, and my favorite time seeing him was the last time he played LN Roo. I am positive I would have a super crazy high energy set. I'm sure I'll have many chances to see Skrillex again, but seeing him with a Bonnaroo crowd is just the freaking best. Plus I'm VIP so I should be able to get in the VIP pit, which is a bonus.
Disclosure is my #2 must see set after Kanye, but honestly I'm so convinced it will be impossibly crowded that I've just about written them off. Definitely not leaving Kanye early to get a spot.
This is a tough one for me. And I again just hope that Mastodon doesn't really start during Kanye, that would be a bummer. Sounds weird, but if I knew I could absolutely catch all of the LN metal tent shows I would be more inclined to just do that. Rather then catch the last half hour of Mastodon then Deafheaven then Meshuggah etc.
OF COURSE there is the Superjam ?. Could change my whole attitude around if that is super awesome.
But man just thinking about it I'm leaning more towards doing the LN metal. Bonnaroo will be doing EDM LNs until the kids sell their synthesizers and buy guitars, what are the chances of another metal block in LN in the future?
I'm a metal head at heart, but love Skrillex and have never seen him. Ive made my decision to see him over camping at metal tent all night based on your post. That being said, I believe Mastodon is playing Leviathan for its tenth anniversary, which is really going to suck missing latenight.
God damn cory's beard for showing me Kins. What do I do Thursday night now? Pusha T or Kins. Pusha will definitely put on a good show, but Kins music is so good.
if it helps your conflict did u see where Kins is playing Ford tent at noon Friday?
Im in the brunch boat also, but they're playing Loufest so hopefully this isn't my only chance at seeing them.
So it looks like my biggest conflict will be Amos Lee vs the end of The Avett Brothers and Elton Elton John. I'm going to see City and Colour over at This Tent. Should I stay and see Amos, or head over to What and catch the end of Avett and stay for Elton?
Kind of conflicted on Sunday with Lake Street Dive and Black Pistol Fire. Both are playing one hour shows with Lake Street starting a half hour earlier. I'll probably watch the majority of Lake Street Dive and wander over to What for Yonder, AM, Avetts and Elton. My question is this--cafe where is the only place I haven't seen a Roo show. If I leave Lake Street Dive early (was gonna abbreviate the band name but no drug talk ha) and make the long trek to Where, does that stage "close" if it's full? I don't want to leave early if there's a chance I wouldn't get a decent view/sound for Black Pistol Fire. For some reason I can't even visualize Cafe Where even though I've probably stumbled right by it getting a gyro or spicy pie
I've seen two shows at Cafe Where, both in 2011.
One was in between The Black Keys and Eminem (~10pm Saturday). We wandered over to Buffalo Springfield on Which, but the sound was rough so we walked back to Cafe Where. It was PACKED, but my friends and I were able to watch J Roddy through a slit behind the drummer. We probably could have made our way through the crowd and I don't remember it "closing".
The other in 2011 was Walk the Moon at 4:30pm Friday, and it was maybe half full. I feel like seeing Black Pistol Fire on Sunday around 2pm should be no problem. Personally, I don't know that I've ever made it into Centeroo before 2pm on Sunday and when I do get in, the crowds always feel a little lighter. If by some miracle this is the year I make it in early Sunday, I might do exactly what you're talking about though!

Actually since I made that post the Derek Trucks Superjam was announced, so ultimately the superjam guitar shredding loving fan in me won out. But I'm thinking I can manage to get a decent taste of everything that night, providing I can stay up late enough:
Derek Trucks Superjam (whole show) Run over to catch what I can of Skrillex, Then end with whatever is left of Meshuggah.
If I can pull that off it should be an amazing night.

Id hit up meshuggah first. Skrillypoo will probably be going the latest, if you follow the trend of LN which Edm.

Edit. My phone thinks meshuggah is Mexican
assuming the sets occur in a timely fasion, there is a 30 minute gap between the end of the Trucks Superjam and the beginning of the Meshuggah set. This was when I was planning on getting my Skrillex time, then heading over to Meshuggah. If I still have energy after Meshuggah (unlikely if I'm being honest) and Skrillex is still going on, I'll head back to Skrillex.

Friday night conflict. Im really getting into Chance more and more, so do I go to That Tent right after Disclosure to secure a good spot for Chance, or do I catch some of Skrillex first, and hope I can get a good spot for Chance. Im thinking I might skip Skrillex because Im going to go to the first half of the super jam the next night, and he might be playing after Chance's set also.Anyone wanta put their 2 cents in on this?

Me too. Damon Albarn>Chromeo>James Blake>Skrlljam>Darkside
Does anybody else think that Lionel Richie will match Bjork for lack of attendance at the fourth name on the bill? His competition is outrageous. I can't imagine there being more than 25,000 at his set. Poor guy.

This is true.. with all that going on Saturday night, I'm not going to Lionel Richie as I had originally planned back when his name popped up on the bill. I mean, only reason anyone would go see him would be for nostalgia value.. I gotta go with the new school bands on this one. I do hate I missed Bjork last year.. I think I was at Beach House? Can't recall who she was conflicting with.. but I heard her show was amazing.

He'll be crying all the way to his job teaching the local community college ceramic pottery class.

I watched her show from a distance. She sounded great though, that Saturday was a little weird for me. I definitely understand why she was under-attended, but she had half the competition as Lionel.
Nobody on the What Stage is going to do good overlapping with Chromeo, John Butler Trio, Zedd, Cut Copy, James Blake AND Lauryn Hill. Even Paul McCartney would lose some attendance against that competition.

halp. <3
I would go to the Avetts. Sunday is once again a shit show for me. But you can't miss out on all of those feelings.
I love pusha. However, I believe in most of the videos ive seen of him live he had his words playing and he was rapping over that kind of track. idk if this is a regular occurrence or not, but thats lame shit.
The Skrillex Superjam will be epic and I try to not miss a Superjam, but I have decided that I will watch most of Frank Ocean's set, before going to Nick Cave into Darkside.
I'm 90% sure I've figured out all my scheduling conflicts. Being at the very front for CHVRCHES but then ditching out 75% through their set to see the Neutral Milk Hotel is a little bit insane but oh well. I might stay the whole time though if I'm really having fun, and I can still see 45 minutes of Neutral Milk Hotel. I just really don't want to miss Aeroplane Over the Sea live. Missing Frank Ocean for the Skrillex superjam is pretty heartbreaking considering he is one of my favorite artists and I haven't him seen live....but the Skrillex superjam...that's something that will never even come close to happening again. I've also yet to experience a superjam (this is my second year) and if there was any superjam for me to go to it'd be this. I mean the Skrillex superjam is gonna be history right? right? I'll have other opportunities to see Frank Ocean.....at least this is all what I keep telling myself. My only scheduling conflict question I have now is really small but I'm just wondering. I wanna see Ty Segall from 1:00-2:00 but I also want to go to the R.Kelly trapped in the Closet sing along from 2:00-4:00. Do the cinema tents fill up occasionally? Is it something you can just walk into unlike the Comedy Tent? Should I leave this set about 15 minutes early or can I stay the whole time and get to the cinema tent 10 or 15 minutes late?
Anyone else gonna do the mad dash from VW to Phoenix and then back for Kanye? I'm trying to figure out of Phoenix is worth it.
Have you ever been to a Phoenix show? I saw them at Roo in 2010, and then at Beale in 2013 I think. It was pretty much the same show. Personally, I'd go for VW, but I have never witnessed one of their shows and I LOVE them, album to album. I also like Phoenix a lot, but their shows are pretty blah IMO. That's just me though.
EDIT: I have to stop posting drunk. Jaz You'll probably end up missing a good chunk of Phoenix if you stay for VW and want to hit all of Kanye. That mad dash is going to be on a lot of people's minds, and that entrance from Which to the What gets really clogged up, so you would have to leave Phoenix's set pretty early as well just to get back over there (assuming K starts on time). I'm sure I'm not telling you something you didn't already know, but it is something to consider. Not sure how you feel about making 1/2 sets.
There. My post actually makes sense and has some relevance now.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
10/19/14-Phantogram
11/29/14-New Politics, Bad Suns
4/17/15-Hippo Campus, Night Riots, The Mowglis
5/1/15-Penn State Movin' On Music Festival-New Politics, Passion Pit, Big Gigantic, Big Sean
6/11/15-6/14/15-Bonnaroo!
6/21/15 - Paul McCartney

Lmao gotcha. Yeah I've all but decided to skip Phoenix and just wait in the Kanye pit line after VW. My Friday is stacked and I'm spending pretty much all of it in the heat at What, so I don't want to unnecessarily tire myself for a truncated Phoenix set. I'm already concerned with how I'll have the energy for Saturday, since I'll be dancing my butt off at Janelle and Kanye on Friday. No need to tire myself out even more.

I realized today that nearly half my shows on Friday/Saturday/Sunday are at What or Which. Water and sunscreen are even more important than normal this year.

Funny, my schedule is the exact opposite. The only two shows I plan on seeing at the What or Which stages are Broken Bells and Elton John.

This is sort of where I at too, but I think I may actually just skip both. I'm totally in that belief that doing VW > Phoenix > Kanye will just be too much of a mad dash to make going to Phoenix worth it. And i plan on taking a break at camp sometime before Kanye and I just don't think it's going to be worth it rushing back to catch Vamp Weekend and then sit around doing nothing for an hour. I'll more than likely change my mind and play it by year but that's my train of thought right now.
