There isn't much news on the hospitalization, which I hope everything is okay since TV on the Radio is a Top 10 Buku act for me. If the US tour beginning at Buku gets cancelled, my Top 10 with all of 5 weeks to go is looking like:
1. STS9 at The Joy Theatre 2. STS9 Festival set 3. Bassnectar 4. Ghostface Killah with badbadnotgood 5. Flosstradamus 6. Portugal. The Man 7. Gramatik 8. A$AP Rocky 9. Porter (live) 10. Mr. Carmack
I will try to see at least some of Die Antwoord, RL Grime, Boosie Badass, Bob Moses, DJ Windows 98, Run the Jewels, Hudson Mohawke, DJ Slander, The Range, Odesza, Big Freedia, Zomboy and Borgore. But Buku is known for conflicts. All I know is I'm not missing any of Tribe, and I'm going to try to catch all of Bassnectar and Ghostface Killah.
Its looking good for me. I have compared the daily lineup to the stages they are booked on and I have little conflicts as of now. We will see once the cubes drop, but I am happy right now.
Yeah both days look strong and split well. Email says they will have single-day passes available starting tomorrow at both GA and VIP level and that there are still GA 2 days available.
My interest level for each day (in order) is:
Friday STS9 Portugal. The Man Flosstradamus RL Grime A$AP Rocky Gramatik Run the Jewels Mr. Carmack Big Freedia Bob Moses Mild interest in: Boosie Badass, Jamie Jones, Thomas Jack, Zomboy, Die Antwoord and Empire of the Sun
Saturday: STS9 (Joy Theatre after show) Bassnectar Ghostface Killah with badbadnotgood TV on the Radio Porter Robinson (live) Hudson Mohawke Odesza DJ Windows 98 DJ Slander Mild interest in: G-Easy, Lil B, Borgore, XXYYXX, Justin Martin B2B Eats Everything, Raury, The Range
Friday: Power Plant Empire of the sun Robert DeLong Big Freedia STS9
Float Den Die Antwoord
Ball Room Portugal. The Man Run the Jewels Pell
Saturday: Power Plant TVotR Raury
Float Den XXYYXX
Ball Room Badbadnotgood w/ Ghostface Killah DJ Windows Zella Day In the Valley Below
Like I said before, it looks like there will be very few conflicts for me and that I will be mostly at in the Ball Room and Power Plant. I am pretty happy with the breakdown.
I made this out of boredom earlier today. I used the daily lineup and the stage lineups they've released so far. It should help give us a general idea of what to expect as far as set times go.

It's tough to say who is getting what slots this year as they closed Float Den with Zedd's Dead and Glitch Mob last year though neither was an EDM headliner. The ballroom was closed by Lotus and I think Danny Brown or one of the rappers. I think the prime spots are evening and then maybe 10ish. Rest assured even though this is a mid-card and up-and-comer act festival, there will be tons of conflicts and split shows. I'm hoping they will put out the schedule in the next week or so as we only have 3 weeks and 2 days until Go Time. Also, I'm hoping they will release a new app. Food was pretty good last year, but I want to start wrapping my head around that side of the festival too in case they are bringing in anything new. Prior years have featured Japanese, NOLA (by Chopped Champion Fireman Mike) which included red beans & rice, jambalaya and similar; vegetarian items; sno-ball stand; a crepe maker; a combo waffle-omlette guy; a fish & shrimp taco place, etc. I think the NOLA Pho Life guys were there too, though they might have only been at Voodoo.
While already having good options, I'm curious if they plan to up the ante like Voodoo and Hangout have and push the envelope. Since the crowd tends to be young, they may not do too much dickering with the food offerings. I'm guessing we'll get the food week before and schedule 2 weeks before.

Danny Brown did close out, and NOLA Pho Life was there last year. I just found that little strip of artsy/food/grassy area last year. I didn't even know they had that or food in previous years. I usually eat before I go out there, so that might be why I didn't know before. Last year, I was trying to get away from the ex that was glued to my hip which is how I found it.

Yeah, that was along the floodwall. We only found it last year too (not sure if they had it there in 2013?). That's where they had the guys doing Pad Thai to order and an iced coffee stand that I hit probably twice each day. I completely forgot about that area as the other food stuff faces the main stage and then surrounding the vendor/shakedown area.

If that little spot wasn't next to the Float Den, it would have been a slice of heaven. Since you didn't notice it before 2014, I wonder if that was a new addition.
Yeah. Last year it ended at 2. It runs from 4ish until 2, then the after parties are til whenever. There will probably be more added, and you know mfs are going to be popping up around the city. As of now, I only plan on seeing the Hermitude/Tribe Afterparty. And I'm going to have to go ahead and call myself a sucker. Because that show will fn rule. And just like walking away from Foo Fighters at hangout in 3 months, shit's gonna end on the highest possible note (both respective 2015 festival's circumstances considered).
Yo Jack. Tribe is Power Plant Friday. I'm hoping they play after Rocky rather than vice versa.
Buku VIP-only performances on the riverboat were announced today. Any info besides Gravity A and Hermitude that anyone can help with, I certainly appreciate it:
Slow Magic GoldLink Hermitude Bixel Boys Mija Boyfriend Gravity A (performing Talking Heads)
