I started researching the lineup to find any additional acts that I like (No luck so far) I did discover one thing though. AWOLNATION is hands down the worst band I've ever heard
Who else did you already try out and not get into?

Belle and Sebastian, STS9, Punch Brothers, and Gary Clark Jr. Wasn't feeling any of them
I have to say that I, too, was a little underwhelmed (and, perhaps, a little caught off guard) by the announced headliners. Since I bought my tix during the presale, lineup unknown, I was glad the rest of the lineup was decent.
While I wasn't in a hurry to see Billy Joel live, I think he will make a decent festival closer Sunday night. Sure, his interplay with the crowd will likely be boring, and he'll sit up there singing his songs looking completely disinterested. But, his singing will be fine, and it will be nice after a long, exhausting weekend to kick back on the VIP Hill and enjoy a fun sing-along to wrap things up.
I don't get all the Mumford hate. I almost think some of it is just because they actually were able to garner a little mainstream buzz, and are penalized for it. They aren't the greatest band in their genre, but I still enjoy them and I'm thrilled they get to headline.
Deadmau5, I just don't get. I had never even heard of him before this lineup was announced. But then again, I'm not really into much electronic music, and I don't get the appeal of going to a show to watch someone sit and press buttons and watch a light show. I'm not bashing, as music is subjective, and everyone likes what they like. It's just that I, personally, don't get it. And, with that said, I hope he doesn't go unopposed, as, if so, I will be looking for something to do during his set.
Kendrick, I will likely not be seeing, unless he goes unopposed, or the other available options are just dreadful. Again, everything is subjective, but, while I don't hate hip-hop, I can't honestly say I'm all that into it either. If there are no other decent options available at the time, I could see myself attending his set and enjoying myself, though.
But, yeah, the headliners could have been MUCH better!
You must be the most sheltered music listener ever.
Well, that's a rather general statement. Care to expand on that a little.

I don't know how you could live in this country, let alone attend music festivals, without knowing who Deadmau5 is. I can understand not being into electronic and disliking him. I can understand liking electronic and disliking him. But, never hearing about him? Come on. Also, Deadmau5 may fucking suck, but making a generalized statement about electronic music as whole based off that hack means you're either closed minded or you never been exposed to anything worth a damn.
Of course you like Mumford and Sons. They can be heard everywhere, from the office party to the Walmart shopping center to the church parking lot. You could make no effort in life to seek out music and have heard that band somewhere.
At this point, it should be a surprise to no one that you are not a fan of hip-hop, let alone one of the best in the business right now. You could have said something about Kendrick's questionable early shows, but let's move on...
It sounds like you know Billy Joel's songs, which, again, is because everybody has without ever even trying. Given that you like the nice, sweet, and safe sounds of Mumford, I would guess you would be excited about a bland classic rock snoozer like Billy Joel, but that is wrong. So, what are you even looking forward to seeing on this lineup?
(Sorry for the long winded response. I'm just taken back by your taste and reasoning. You are new and I don't want to offend you, but you asked me to expand on it.)

We don't always agree on music but sometimes we really click, pal.
Belle and Sebastian, STS9, Punch Brothers, and Gary Clark Jr. Wasn't feeling any of them
How did you not know even one of those acts???
Knew them but never bothered to listen to them. Belle and Sebastian I had heard once and thought they were terrible. They are. STS9 was pretty awful too. Punch Brothers and Gary Clark Jr. were boring

So, like, who do you like? Because if you can't find something between the acts you do know and those four, I'm afraid you might not like music... Sorry if I'm breaking the bad news. :/

what do you like? ....besides the strokes? maybe we can give you some suggestions.
I'm pretty much familiar with the whole lineup. This year just isn't geared towards my tastes. I think there's a lot of good stuff on the lineup, it's just not mind-blowing like last year's. Though Jamie xx, Kendrick Lamar, Spoon, Iceage are good enough to get me to go

to be fair - belle & sebastian are pretty boring. sts9 takes a pretty specific crowd to be into. I don't know enough about the punch brothers. and I never cared a ton for gary clark jr until I saw him live - dude kills the guitar live.

I mean I do like a decent amount on the lineup. There's just not nearly as much as the past two years. Kendrick, Flume, Slayer, Spoon, Atomic Bomb!, Tears for Fears, FloLo, Caribou, Run the Jewels, Sylvan Esso, Jamie xx, Against Me!, Mac Demarco, The Very Best, MadGibbs, Shabazz Palaces, The Growlers, Iceage, Between the Buried and Me, Pallbearer, and King Gizzard are all shows I'm stoked for. We can argue about Belle and Sebastian all day, but like I said, between the acts he does know and those four, I don't get how there isn't anything for him. His list I guess cleared that up. Although that was a pretty stange list for people to "get him to go."

Not really, considering those are the four best acts on the lineup
Anyway, you're spewing nonsense. When did I say there wasn't anything for me on the lineup? My original post said additional acts to look forward too.

okay, this is a lot of similar stuff as me. you've probably listened to most of these, but if not give these a try: sbtrkt, odesza, mø, rudimental, jungle, glass animals, royal blood, tycho oh, and earth wind and fire. just because. watch videos.

I'll be sure to give these a more in depth listen. Gracias

Yeah, I took your post wrong. I'm also a lot with your list of acts you wanna see. Carry on!

What a total asshole response and assumption about someone. He's talking about 4 acts, 2 of which are edm/hip hop and he doesn't know who they are/isn't in to them. Big fucking deal. I think that says a lot about how weak the headliners are. As for liking Mumford, ya apparently pretty much everyone that likes them knows nothing about good music and could only be so lucky to be as smart, sophisticated, and full of themselves as you. Mumford is going to be the biggest show of the weekend, they must suck. And BJ? He's a legend either way, so ya he probably knows of him and can get into the show.
1) Alabama Shakes 2) My Morning Jacket 3) Sturgill Simpson 4) Gary Clark, Jr. 5) Brandi Carlile 6) Rhiannon Giddens 7) Ben Harper 8) SOJA 9) Trampled By Turtles 10) Mumford & Sons
So at the end of the day, this guy doesn't like hip hop and is living under a rock when it comes to electronic music. Sounds like a bajillion other Bonnaroo attendees. Moving on...

So are Belle and Sebastian the only big time 00s indie rock band you aren't obsessesed with? I figured you'd be raving about how Tigermilk was GOAT by now.
