So its safe to say that if i am in the pit for MMJ for the first hour and then leave and get in the pit line for Mumford I should be ok? This would be about an hour and a half in the Mumford pit line
You'll be able to see all of MMJ inside the pit and get back in for Mumfarts. If I were you, I'd dip out once they start playing OBH.
I think I might do MMJ in the pit for about an hour and 40 mins then head over to the Mumford pit. MY GF wants pit for Mumford so I need to make sure I rock brownie points

I wont know what to do if they play One Big Holiday like 4th lol
They haven't pulled a move like that in a while. I've been to 30+ MMJ shows and can only recall 3 that did not have OBH as the closer.
I think half of the ones I've seen had a different closer. Bonnaroo 08 (Home Sweet Home), NYE 12 (Anytime), Americanarama Bridgeport (Gideon)
I stand corrected on this. Those were 2/3 I was thinking of, but the third did have OBH as a closer. However, T5 had a OBH closer once. Technically I've seen them not close with it 6 times.
I walked right in to the pit for Umphreys and Seasick Steve. Early afternoon unpacked pits are wonderful.
When I last graced the farm with my presence (2013), i was the daytime pit master... Literally walked in, no line, for acts like Warren Haynes and Lee Fields... think I caught 4 pits at What and 3 at Which that year... lovely spot- i don't know how these people complain about hurting their necks (no offense to those), but I always have a great time in the pit

Man, Kendrick is going to have the most packed pit at this year's Bonnaroo. The last time he played mid-day the rush to get in was insane and there wasn't really a line as much as a gathering of people wanting to get in. The security guard even threatened to shut the gate if he saw pushing. I think Mumford and Billy fans will be cool with chilling in the field and Deadmau5 has some competition.
I really want to be up close for Kendricks set, but don't want to fight for a spot. Or do I?
Considering Kendrick and/or Deadmau5 for my first pit experience. Can anyone comment on the sound/visual quality from the pit compared to a good rail spot behind it? Definitely don't wanna pass up on the crowd energy in there but if a rail is easier to hold for the night, may have to rethink plans.
You go all the way up to the front on the right side and get in a line. About 30 mins before the show they let people in. It fits more people than you'd think so even if the line is long you still have a good chance.
I got in soja, Dawes, and trampled by turtles and was never there more than 20 minutes early.

Dawes - ended up on the rail and got in about 20-15 minutes before they went on.
Alabama Shakes - Met up with a friend after Dawes and got some beer and then went back and got in for the Shakes, probably about 25 minutes before they went on, had a pretty decent spot
My Morning Jacket - Went in around 40 minutes before show time and enjoyed my pizza and made some friends in a pretty decent spot. My own friends were either volunteering or opted to go to Childish Gambino instead... fools
Florence + the Machine - this was the only one I waited in line for, got there a little under an hour before she went on, they let us in about 20 mins or so (I think) before the set.
All of the shows were worth being in the pit for. Also got in the Which Stage Pit for The War On Drugs. It always surprises me how easy it is to get in. Granted I might not know it was possible if I wasn't on Inforoo, so I'm sure a lot of people think it's VIP or something.

best way i found to get in was just jump on that camera that hovered over the crowd, he'll pick you up and take you right into the pit. way easier than standing in line.
