...just saw on FB that they say Phish, MMJ & Ween are all 'headlining'...haven't they considered themselves having two headliners per night in the past..i.e. 8 headliners?...I can't imagine panic, cheese and dead all disappear this year?
Additions are just gonna sweeten the deal. I'm already in. With this being the only festival dates for Phish, I think they'd better prepare to go from being a fest that brags about being ok with underselling tickets, to a fest that sells out. Time to get those logistics figured out...
Also, with the change in dates and a lineup like this, RIP Gathering of the Vibes :/
I'm not sure about that. They are still a month apart and over an 8 hour drive away. A ton of Vibes people jumped on Peach this year and are still hitting Lock'n so I don't think there is much from this that would affect Vibes outside of Vibes own issues.
Edit: I'm also not sure on how well this will sell. The comments on the Jambase article are 75% VERY against this lineup.
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.
They moved the dates specifically for phish to play. Might not be a permanent change.
They say right in their release that it will be staying at that weekend "LOCKN' 2016 is moving to the last weekend of August, 8/25 – 8/28. The festival will take place on this same weekend, hopefully for many years to come." and gives a list of reasons why. I doubt it changes unless another big scheduling conflict comes up.

really? what more could this demographic possibly want, other than SCI and Panic?
phish and ween are my two favorite bands, and 8/27 is my birthday. 12 hour drive. makes me think.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

A lot of the comments I've seen on FB are the typical back and forth about WSP vs Phish. Same dumb shiz.

Yeah, most of the comments I have seen are No Dead? No WSMFP? No SCI? Phish sucks. Ween....really? Type comments but if you read the comments on the Jambase Facebook post the vast majority are negative and there are almost 400 comments on there so its more than a few. I like switching hings up a bit. This lineup makes me more intrigued than the "leaked" lineup.

2 nights of Phish, 2 nights ween, MMJ vs. Pearl Jam, LCD, The Dead & Co., Claypool Lennon Delirium, Tame Impala guaranteed late night....
Things that are pulling me toward Bonnaroo this year; in descending order 1. Claypool/Lennon (goddamnit so much I WANT TO SEE THIS), The Dead & Co. and only a 3.5 hours drive from ATL.
Things that are pulling me towards Lockn'. Everything so far. Plus I've never seen an MMJ show.
Con's of Bonnaroo: I'm giving money to LiveNation / Ticketmaster whom I hate to the very core of my soul like a malignant cancerous spot. Not incredibly interested in the undercard even after a few weeks research. I have no faith that they will put bathrooms, even some non-flushing portos, anywhere close to TO so I'll still have to wake up and pee in a Gatorade bottle EVERY morning. Probably wont be able to enter under the Arch, which I know is stupid but that use to mean something to my festival mode brain when I was there.
Con's of Lockn': Never been and have no idea how it works which is kinda scary for a first timer. 7/8 hours drive from ATL.

As far as I'm concerned, the people who are complaining about this lineup can stay the heck away. That would hopefully equal a quicker entrance for me and my crew, plus more dancing room. Personally, having Phish, MMJ and Ween on top the lineup is near perfect. Everything else is just delicious musical gravy on top.
....the same reason Phish fans have crapped on the lineup every year. I don't get it either, but anybody who's in this scene knows how tribal a lot of the fans can be...most everybody likes the Dead, but it gets fractured after that. There should be 15-20 more adds and I'll be really surprised if SCI and/or WSMFP aren't among them...I've been wanting a bill with Panic/Phish for so damn long.
my personal rankings: WP/GD/Phish SCI RRE/CRB/STS9/Leftover/Galactic Warren Hanynes projects Lotus Moe/Bisco/Umph
...and I can enjoy a show by all of them!(consider ABB r.i.p.)
I've been hoping for MMJ since I first went to Lock'n 2 years ago. I think they're a perfect fit and people that are unfamiliar with them will have their minds blown. I'm totally fine with them scaling back on SCI and WSP sets. They'll add some Dead I'm sure. All in all this is more to my taste than any prior years and I loved going the last 2 so this year is a no-brainer.

Any advice for someone doing this fest solo for their first time going? It's a camp fest and the lineup is good enough already to get me there. All the standard n00b Bonnaroo ?'s apply. Is there a TO next to the main gates? A good time to arrive? Recommended critical supplies?
Prepare for heat, cold, and rain. There is a tent only area. It's not a whole lot closer than some car camping areas. VIP has it made. The walk last year got longer as they moved the main entrance. Big plus though...you can bring bikes. They even added some bike trails through the woods last year. The late-night stages are a free for all as they're in the campgrounds. No search to get to those like there is for the main stage.

Sweeeet! There must be f*ck tons of bicycles I'd never be able to figure out which one is mine after a day/evening of enjoyment. Is it luck of the draw where you camp? Could you face 1+ mile hikes to the stages area depending on where you're parked? Thank you for the info BTW!!!
Tickets will be at least $300 and camping passes are additional. Tent only was around $60, car camping was $99. There is VIP and Super VIP as well as Handicap accessible camping. Don't know how much RV/Camper camping is although I need to find out. Parts of the camping area are hilly/

I went solo last year, There are also bike racks, so you can rest assured your bike will still be there when you get back. Camping seems to be luck of the draw, the venue is mostly flat with a few minor hills, not too bad a walk. Any other questions, let me know.
