Hitting the home stretch here. This one has bugged me for a while. Anderson East vs Grace Potter vs Whilk n Misky vs Sausage Party.
For me, I'm here for the music, because there's no greater experience than live music. The crowd, the energy, the showmanship of the artist on stage owning that hour or more. However, even with Sausage party coming out two months later....it would be awesome to see it before anyone else. Especially since I'm a huge Seth Rogen fan. On the flip side, I've missed Grace Potter with the Nocturnals twice, and Grace solo 3x over the last 2 years. Really digging Anderson East, they play him at work all the time, and I've been hooked. Then there's that strange music with Whilk n Misky, and awful named band that is actually pretty decent. This is definitely a game-time decision but it's tough, suggestions?

No love for Chicano Batman? But I really did enjoy being able to brag about seeing Trainwreck early last year if that would tip Sausage Party in your favor
Chicano Batman is a good choice. I'll either be there or at Anderson. I'm just not a fan of Grace's music, don't recall being intrigued by the couple of tracks I heard from Whilk and Misky, and don't really do movies at Roo. It's all subjective. You'll have fun whichever way you go.

The cinema tent is kind of tough to make it into for popular movies. I tried Birdman (with the live drummer) last year, got there over an hour early, and still barely didn't make it in. There was still a huge line of people behind us that never had a chance. I'd say stick with the music. Based on my experience, which to be fair was just that one time, it's not really worth all the waiting just to see a movie. Especially a movie you can see in a couple months anyways

Thats a fair point. The line for the NBA Finals was stupid long haha. That Saturday afternoon is pretty damn weak; no real obvious choice

That's a great testimony. Thanks. I'll go to Judd Q&A, split Anderson East and Grace, and then hopefully make it into Judd's stand-up, but the app is showing it's gonna be stupid packed, and the later showing is during Nate Rateliff/Haim/Oh Wonder.
I'm probably asking this in the wrong place but it's still related to the schedule. If I'm trying to see Judd Apatow at 4:45 and the previous show starts at 2:15, does that mean I can get tickets for Judd at 2:15 while the previous show starts? Or do I have to wait until 3:30 when that previous show is over. I saw Hannibal in the comedy tent a couple years ago but I forgot how that whole thing worked. Just wondering how much time I have for getting a ticket and then going to see The Internet
I understand. The majority of my group can't get into any of LCD so I might be at the show all by myself. As for tame impala I'm getting worried. It doesn't seem like anyone has a good thing to say about which stage and I really want a spot where I can at least get good sound quality.
All of us good ole inforoo folks will be at LCD, if you're looking for company it shouldn't be hard. We don't bite, at least too hard. I haven't been to Roo since 2013, so the Which Stage sound may have improved...but it use to have issues. Best I remember, the further back you are the worse it sounds. What Stage sound carries fairly well.
People are overestimating the crowd for Tame Impala, I don't think it'll be that bad. I would say if you get there before Bryson Tiller is over and are willing to work your way up a bit, you'll be fine. I expect it to be about at big as Flaming Lips in 2014, big but not dense enough that you couldn't work your way up if you wanted to.
I expect the Ellie Goulding crowd to be much bigger.
I hope you're right. The only act that has more people added on the website is Pearl Jam, and the only acts going against them is electronic acts.

I have no idea how it works, but seeing as only 1,000 people get in the comedy tent, and it's scheduled at 1,900 right now. You should probably skip those 2:00-4:00 acts to even have a chance of getting tickets. I remember showing up to comedy tent at like 12:30, which was about 30 min too late for Broad City tickets. That show was at 2:00. So yeah show up at least 2 hours beforehand or forget about it. I can't miss Anderson East, Grace, or Chicano Batman, or Chris Stapleton/The Internet. I'm just going to the Judd Q&A, which is going to be awesome.

Well one of my worst conflicts just got resolved! BØRNS is playing near-ish to me at the end of July for only $20, I'll be hitting that up and going to the first half of Marian Hill & all of Lizzo's set at Bonnaroo. It's a win/win, I think a more intimate setting would be better than an overcrowded tent at Roo for BØRNS and now I can check out two other acts I love instead of one!

I would pull some of Kurt Vile set lists if he is still playing a good bit of his previous album I would go with him. His new one is kinda terrible in my opinion.
this is a hard one for me. I was really hoping for kurt vile before the lineup even dropped. I like the wood brothers too and really enjoyed their bonnaroo set back in '07. It will probably be dependent on how hot and tired I am at game time. I want to catch cymande, but I don't really want to be in the which field for two consecutive shows in the middle of sunday afternoon. Probably will catch some shade at the beginning of wood brothers and then the end of kurt vile. also mrs. snowman things kurt vile is the most boring dude ever so I may have some external influence pulling me over to the bluegrass tent.

That's true, Sunday is pretty much trying to find a show I can listen to while sitting in the shade.

Kurt Vile was kinda boring when I saw him a couple weeks ago. He sounded good, but really didn't have that great of a stage presence, IMO. The people around us put on a much better show quite honestly. He did play everything that you would want to hear and more, but it was just really chill and nothing exceptional.

That's really how I feel about the whole Sunday lineup pretty much. I may end up just grabbing lunch after Cymande then heading over to relax and chill at Jason Isbell. I've been a huge fan of his since DBT's Decoration Day. Kurt has always been good when I've seen him in clubs. Those times were all before B'lieve I'm Goin' Down, which I'm not a fan of. It has it's moments. I like when he plays the keys more on the new album. I really have a strong dislike for the track Pretty Pimpin' and they keep pushing that as the feature track.

Lizzo was terrible at firefly last year, I hear she's gotten better though. Marian Hill was fantastic when I saw them in Feb.

If you get to comedy tent by like 1pm, you can get tickets by at least 2:30pm, 3:00 at the latest because they'll probably be sold out by then. And go watch the internet, and come back and have a spot(albeit a crappy spot in the tent).

I'm considering skipping the last 20 minutes or so of Bully to see the full Hinds set. What would you do?
I don't think this has been addressed yet. I've seen Bully 4 times already and this summer's 'Roo set will be #5. I'll definitely be leaving Bully early to get over to see all of Hinds. Also, given that Bully is from Nashville and Hinds is from Madrid, Hinds seems like the obvious choice to go see all of. Also I'm personally gonna be there because it'll be one of my few opportunities to hangout at the Who. I'll see you there.
That'll still give me 15 minutes to run over to see Vulfpeck.

That's my plan. I haven't seen Bully and I'm sure my favorite songs of theirs will be at the end. I just think Hinds will be great on Who and, like you said, I'll have less opportunities to see them in the future.

Which of their songs are your favorites? They actually play a pretty short, fast-rockin' set. Some of my favorite songs were played almost right off the bat. I'm pretty confident that I'll hear several of my favorites before I have to head over to Hinds.

I'd like to hear Tryin' and I Remember.
You'll almost definitely hear I Remember before you leave. Trying is easily their most popular song, so I wouldn't count on it, but you never know.
This will probably be my only chance I get to see LCD and I'd love to hear All My Friends and Someone Great live. I never listened to them until the rumors of them headlining came and I enjoyed a few of their songs. I would be going to this show alone while my friends wait at Tame.
I've listened to Tame Impalas entire catalog dozens of times since the beginning of the release of Currents. Their show is my groups #1 and the main reason we're looking forward to come back to Roo and they're my favorite band at the moment.
I don't like missing headline shows and I know LCD will be great but being in the pit for Tame would be perfect. I plan on staying for M83s entire show before hand so I don't know how that would affect my place in the pit line for Tame. It would be my second put show ever after Griz early that same day.
