Great news! Joe Goddard will be a part of the Hot Chip dj set. His name was included in their Dallas date.
So is it Joe + Alexis? Ne215 went to their dj set and said it was incredibly underwhelming. I've never had too good of experiences w DJ sets either.
Nothing more disappointing than getting news of one of your favorite bands coming to town and then you see those 2 dreaded words - "DJ Set".
If I wanted to see a DJ set, I would go see an actual DJ. Always disappointing, including James Murphy at Emo's a couple of years ago. Although, I have heard the Jagwar Ma DJ set from SOS last year was legit. Still anti-DJ set.
Jagwa Ma was legit for sure. This line up would double in value if Hot Chip performed in full. I've seen Poolside, Phantogram and fucking "Charles Bradley" DJ sets that were all boring. It's just am excuse to put a famous name on someone in the group trying out their dj skills.
I mean Jono Ma is an actual DJ. Same with Joe Goddard. They aren't just guys in bands. The alternative would have been Alexis without Joe, which would have been far less appealing. I've seen some good DJ sets.

I get why those "DJ sets" didn't deliver. Hot Chip will be fine.

James Murphy, really? That's surprising. I've seen him spin too and it's incredible, he's a really really good DJ. That's how he made his name initially.
Ha Im in same boat. Forgot I saw her "contraversial" set n I had fun. Also forgot about Erykah Badu's DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown set which was absolute worst.

Yeah, I know, which is why I went. But, nah it wasn't anything special. Now after having read "Meet Me in the Bathroom" and about his legendary NYC DJ sets, I am even more disappointed. Still a big LCD Soundsystem fan though.
"This year we're expanding our regular electronic and hip hop programming and opening the doors to Druid's Discothéque, a full club experience on the grounds of Sherwood Forest. Inspired by 1970's nightclubbing, from the shores of Italy's Lake Garda where the classic Cosmic Club thrived, to DJ Kool Herc's legendary basement parties at 173 Sedgwick Ave in the Bronx where Hip Hop was born.
Anything goes in Druid's Discothéque where we showcase DJ sets from some of our favorite DJs / producers from the worlds of Disco, Old School Hip Hop, Classic Boogie / Electro, House, and Techno. Set times and an entirely separate late night camping lineup will both be dropping closer to the fest, so keep your eyes here for more info."

Have y'all done day parking or camping in the past? I want to go all weekend, but in case I don't, just wondering how easy it is to get in and out when parking.
"no plans to be as big as acl. it'll grow, but it has a ceiling, because we don't book a lot of acts that sell a ton of tix (quality over quantity), so we'll never be as big as some events and that's fine. we like being a manageable fest for fans and hope to keep it that way. it's still successful as a boutique event that more personable and intimate for concert goers. also, fuck Muse and shit like that.
Not much from that AMA logistically other than they tried to book ATDI, Jawbreaker, Tribe, and apparently Baby Metal. They have a plan regarding moving the stage in. There was a sublte hint that Psych may try to come back but nothing garunteed. Sunday may end a bit earlier (but ended up being later last year due to the rain delay).

So if you're planning on flying into this shindig, you may wanna check Fontier out. I'm pulling $111 r/t (from Raleigh) with the current sale going on. Are they doing shuttles again?
