These are all good names but I'm a little concerned after this year that they'll be too high up. I'm still pretty confident QOTSA wouldn't be a #1. Manchester Orchestra would probably be on the 3rd-4th line after this year.

Shaky Knees has some wonky billing sometimes (xx > LCD) so it’s hard to gauge who’s over who.

I'll be at both shows. Saw Modest Mouse there last month. Red lot parking is super expensive ($20) but I don't know of any other options that will guarantee your car won't be towed. Also make sure to pre-pay your parking ticket before leaving the lot because the credit card readers were super wonky. My apartment is six miles away from the place (next to the Marietta KSU campus), if anyone wants to carpool let me know.
The venue itself is pretty awesome. It's bigger than the Tabernacle but feels a lot smaller, the venue feels a lot more like a bigger version of Variety Playhouse.
Glass Animals is not likely to be touring in 2018.
At Austin City Limits last week Glass Animals told the crowd they would not be touring in America "for a very long time". Said they were off to go make a new album

Wait so they have credit card readers now? I went for the Glass Animals show back in April and they were cash only, which was really a pain in the ass.

XX > LCD still confuses me but Shaky isn't the only festival that's done that. My guess is that the XX is a little more radio friendly, and can appeal to a big festival crowd, they just can't sell as many tickets to a solo show. LCD sold out the Roxy in less than an hour with two dates while the XX didn't/could barely sell out that place. Shaky also likes putting female headliners as their #1 with the XX, Florence, and Alabama Shakes.
Makes me sad to remember that we went from having NMH on the 5th line two years ago to to Bleachers on the 5th line this year. Hopefully this was just a bad year for Shaky and it'll go back to its 2015-2016 self next year.

Wasn't that the year where Beck supposedly fell through at the end and Shakes came in to save the day? They might have gotten a higher spot simply because of that.

Yeah it was. National - AS - MM also would have worked but I think AS worked pretty well as an overall headliner and probably is the most popular.

I don't think they'll stick with their history for their headliners next year because I don't think anyone is left and available. Arcade Fire would fit perfectly but probably won't be back so soon. I'm thinking Shaky might go big next year and get a big rock headliner because it's obvious Music Midtown isn't going after that anymore.
Arctic Monkeys - The Kooks - Queens of the Stone Age
Going from 11th line to 1st in two years is quite the upgrade.
I'm still surprised they we're 11th. Given the XX was at the number one spot last year, The Kooks at 2/3 wouldnt surprise me. Or maybe I'm just overestimating their popularity idk

On their respective tours this years The Kooks were playing 1,000 person venues and The xx were playing 3,000 person venues (and sometimes much larger). I think you're overestimating a bit.

Yeah, way overestimating their popularity. They're in the same class as like Matt and Kim. Late '00s indie pop that still exists but no one really cares about anymore

11th line. They were #34 at the festival last time they were here. I also thought they'd be a bit more popular but you're overestimating their popularity by several magnitudes
