It's official! Michael Berg, co-producer of the event, confirmed that Hulaween 2019 is happening this October 24th to the 27th. Besides SCI, who else do you see headlining? I'm really hoping for something like SCI - DeadMau5 - Flaming Lips - King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

I don't have any speculation on headliners, but I did get a notification today that SCI is playing Stubb's in Austin Oct 31 - Nov 2, if one weekend of Cheese isn't enough for you.

They're scaling back on the artists quite a bit this year to dig themselves out of the situation they put themselves in. That's the word on the street, anyway.
I'd guess Bassnectar again. Not sure how much he is to book, but he moves tickets. Deadmau5 seems pretty expensive.
I hate to say it but I think it's as likely to happen as Woodstock...
I REALLY hope you are wrong! I've never been but my Roo fam from a few different states go every year and I've set aside some vacation days to join them for more time together.
Can I ask why specifically you don't think it will happen?

Many of the people responsible for art installations and performance art were never paid due to "gross miscalculations;" subsequently Silver Wrapper, the promotion company they work with, went under. They're finally paying people off and supposedly are getting a new promotion company in place, however these posts were made through Facebook/Reddit weeks ago. No official announcement has been made by the fest itself and it's nearly 4 months out. Not a good sign.
(Please correct me if there are inaccuracies in this)

OH! okay. For some reason I thought they had finally paid everyone off, not just started paying people off.
I also imagine they would need to start selling tickets already if it was happening.
I really wish it still would though. Oh well, maybe my Roo fam will brainstorm something else to do later this year while together on the farm.
LadyFonz Depends on where you're coming from and what you like. Voodoo has a decent lineup this year in late October. EDC Orlando is in November, lineup should be dropping this month or next. There's supposed to be a Miami Beach Pop fest coming in November too. None of which really match the vibe of Hulaween though.
fridakahlo I've been wanting to check out Voodoo for a while now! I haven't looked at the Lineup this year but I usually dig it. Plus, I just love NOLA though I've only been once. THAT would be a fun city to be with my Roo fam in! Now if I can just sell the idea to them...haha

I just went for Buku, and it was fun. Lodging will be VERY expensive so just prepare for that, and try to book early/split costs amongst several friends.
Yay!! Can't wait to get back to Suwannee. Basnectar at Voodoo kind of worries me that he'll be at Hula this year...What do you guys think? If it's something like Bassnectar - The Flaming Lips playing Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots - Big Gigantic I would be content.

Bassnectar again honestly doesn't bother me...One of the best sets I saw in 2017 was The New Mastersounds, who played during Bassnectar's set. So as long as they have someone awesome during his set this year I'll be happy.

Very happy to be wrong!! Pre-sale tix on sale today!!
How do people say this festival compares to something like Electric Forest?
I am considering making the trip in October, logistics are tough coming from Mass since I dont want to drive and flying with camping gear is hard. I was hoping they had a 'glamping' option but maybe renting an RV will suffice.. although it doesnt look like you can buy RV passes, at least yet?
Any feedback people have on this one will be appreciated.

The mastermind art director behind Sherwood Forest, is the same art director for Spirit Lake, so you will experience a lot of simularities there.

Flying Lotus posted dates on his Instagram and it had Hula on it! Anderson Paak rumors also seem to have validity since he was booked for Miami Beach POP and didn’t show up on that lineup. Probably dropped of that fest so he could be a headliner here rather then 2nd/3rd line
Longer answer is I've been creeping on Paul's reddit account for weeks and he's been going out of his way to comment on Paak threads and rumors in a very positive light. Coupled with the POP thing and him playing Afropunk in October in ATL too, and it feels like a lock.
FlyLo mentions special guests in that post as well, I could see Thundercat, Toro y Moi and George Clinton off his new album being booked as well, and possibly Tierra Whack and Shabazz Palaces too.
