I think that makes sense for her - she started off as a "footballer girlfriend" and has more or less always been attached to someone with more power than her. Standing on her on two feet is a big deal.
That he was jealous it was going to someone else? I can see it both ways now but I’m sure it’ll be explained next episode.
I don't think they'll address it again (unless there's a "next time on Ted Lasso" I missed).
I assumed he didn't ever have those kinds of videos from Keeley, which is why he asked. And Jamie knew it was for him, either because he saw it or he knew maybe she didn't do it for other people after? Not sure. I liked that it gave them some nice closure.

The hey Jude scene was bad.
Still enjoying the hang but this season feels like they are simultaneously trying to cram too many ideas in and also they don't have any good ideas left.
Didn't like the Jack heel turn. I don't buy she would react that way, trying to force Keeley to make a bullshit statement like that. She's a billionaire she really shouldn't give a shit about what people think of her girlfriend.

Right???? It was SO WEIRD that she was like “hey I’m gonna take you as my girlfriend to a polo match with rich men” but also introduced her as a friend to some random college friend? This season’s new characters are weirdly cryptic, one dimensional and inconsistent. Nate’s girlfriend has no personality outside of being a “goal” of Nate’s and I don’t think that’s on purpose

I liked the Hey Jude scene. There’s been a lot about how Ted’s divorce, Michelle’s new boyfriend, and Ted’s being in England have affected Ted, so it was nice for me to have a moment that centered Henry, and I thought Beard’s speech was good. Plus, I think since I’ve become a parent, I’ve become a much easier mark for stuff around kids.

As for stuff with Jack, as much as it sucked to watch (yes, I'm a Roy/Keeley shipper - although Roy was hugely disappointing in his reaction to the leak - but I don't love watching people be bad to each other), it did make sense to me. First, the calculus with Keeley obviously changed for Jack pre- to post-leak. Whatever the reason, it obviously wasn't something she was happy with, so that she might go from being excited to introduce Keeley to her family to downplaying their relationship to a friend seemed logical in that moment, to me. As for billionaires not giving a shit what people think, there are all kinds of real-world examples of that not being the case. High society people give all kinds. of shits about what other people think, especially if they come from generational money, as it's implied that Jack does.

I thought this was the best episode of the season. There were some great jokes ("the guitarist from Cream" lolol) and the Roy Ken press conference was fantastic.

I want to marry Rebecca so badly. God she is a dream.
We heard Jamie say “poopah” again.
The gay storyline felt borderline afterschool special. But the Denver Broncos “I didn’t care” speech was great. That’s a big shift in our culture when talking about being LBGTQ+. Used to be “we don’t care” / “we’ll love you anyway” and now the language is “we’re here for you, thank you for being in our lives, we love you, you’re awesome”. Not a burden, now a blessing.
Also: The acting by Kola Bokinni was next level. Glad he got to showcase his abilities.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
So, Roy head coach with Beard as his assistant as Ted heads home?
At this point I see Nate getting fired because he won’t play Rupert’s games, that’s how he goes back to Richmond.
I was thinking that but it wouldn’t feel right since both storylines have stayed far apart. Why would they just let him right back? While on the other side, Roy has learned how to be a leader, be flexible in game styles, offer an ear of compassion to his squad and now knows how to talked to the press. Seems like he’s being groomed for it.
Maybe Nate goes back as an assistant since he doesn’t need the spotlight anymore? He seemed to stop caring about what Twitter thinks about him by finding someone that appreciates him for who he is.

I think they are setting it up for Nate to quit before he gets fired.
Also I sort of feel like they are writing Nate totally differently than they did last season, which was true between seasons 1-2 as well. It just doesn't feel authentic to me.

Hot take: this show has always been inconsistent but people loved how refreshing it was in season 1 that people went on the band wagon. It isn’t serialized enough like a sitcom to be ok with stagnant characters (like Broad City or Always Sunny) but not consistent enough to have any pay off with all the prescribed growth.

Other things I really enjoyed about this episode:
1) Rebecca taking Roy to the woodshed. Everyone's always so, "oooh, Roy Kent, scary," but Rebecca is the capital-B Boss, and it was awesome seeing her flex like that on a character everyone else is so intimidated by. Am I going to be fantasizing a bit about Hannah Waddingham yelling at me to be a better version of myself after watching this episode? Yes. Yes, I am.
2) Higgins. Everything with Higgins.
3) The way Jade was having none of Rupert's shit when they met. It's unfortunate that Jade seems primarily, so far, an accessory to Nate's arc, but that was a great individual moment for her character. I may steal "It's worthwhile to meet you."
4) Jamie saying "poopy."
5) I'm not sure if the cut away from Colin when he stands up and says Isaac's not gay and back to him indicated that he actually came out during that time, or whether everyone in the locker room just inferred it, but I like to think it was the former, and I think that was an interesting choice.
6) Everything about the first press conference.
7) Everything about the second press conference.
I dunno - maybe my standards are lower, but I'm not feeling the disappointment a lot of other folks seem to be with this season. I feel like things took a step up with the Amsterdam episode and I've been enjoying it ever since.

i feel like there is something weird with rupert and jade but maybe i am reading into it
Rupert is definitely a "steal yo girl" vibe king but Jade isn't having any of it.
Yeah it felt like more than that?? Like they maybe knew each other? Also with the name thing. But that could obviously be him dismissing Nate by getting it wrong.
