I know a lot of you have talked about the powdered drink mix for bottles of water. Good idea since I don't like the plain taste of water too much. Right now, Meijer has the powdered Country Time Lemonade packets on sale, buy one get two free. The box contains 10 packets that are each portioned for a 16.9 oz bottle of water. They're like $3 a box, but with the buy one get two free you get 30 packets for $3.
they are 10 for a package. not sure how many are in one package. i think it's lemon lime flavor and they are like little tablets you just drop in to get essential electrolytes and vitamins and minerals.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
For what it's worth, and I bet it's been covered already, but the big discount warehouse places (BJ's, Costco, etc), are great for food, batteries, etc.
We just got back from BJs with two cases of water, a case of Gatorade, batteries, trail mix, granola bars, beef jerky and battery-powered patio lanterns. Not sure exactly how much we saved, but you can't beat buying large quantities in the long run.
Just picked this Coleman camp shower up over the weekend at Sports Authority in New Orleans for $20 ( I think they have a website) Put 4 D-cell batteries in it and drop the end in a cooler of water, you're good to go. Tested it out, works great!

You might want to be cautious about anything that claims to add "essential electrolytes" to your water. Electrolytes are just salts, which are essential, but if you dont actually consume your bodies electrolytes, theres really no reason to add more, adding more could risk dehydration. Odds are, unless you're a super body builder or marathon runner, you don't need the extra electrolytes.
Basically, if you drink something that says that (including gatorade or powerade or whatever), make sure you drink enough water on top of that to balance out your extra sodium intake.
I'm pretty sure the battery pack does not go into the water, but rather the end of the tube.
you would be correct Oleander. I figure its better than nothing. Some one posted somewhere on here before about it, and said that they used it last year, and never had to change the batteries. I'm bringing 3 extra sets just in case. We've a fairly large group (6-8) and I have a feeling it'll become rather popular around Saturday night.

Once again, make sure you know where the runoff water is going, especially with a large group. You don't want to swamp yourself or your neighbors. Hey, You can always go to the edge of the road and shower.
BTW, I've heard those thing work great and the batteries last quite a while. And NO do not put the battery pack in the water.

By the way, a long overdue thank you for this tip. I picked one of these up. I've yet to try it out though....being that I'm very much out of town at the moment!
I'm not getting one of these but some of you might be interested if you have a power source.
Kohl's has a Outdoor Patio misting fan, 3 speed oscillating for $84.99. Looks nice, just more than I intend to haul. On sale 4/23 throgh 4/26 in store and online
There is the basic 10x10 canpoy for $20. It is not an EZ-up and takes a bit to assemble but it is fairly sturdy and will stand without guy lines. It is not the cheap Walmart brand that will fall over it you sneeze.
They also have a similar one with screen walls for $25.
And they have an EZ-up for $50.
If you need a canopy, check out the Family Dollar Store.
