Thanks for the REI tip...also someone mentioned big lots on here a few days ago...i went today and found coleman flash lights for 5 bucks each...they also had this really cool rolling cart for 10...just thought I'd share...
they also had canopies for cheap, but that's probably exactly what they are..cheap...spare no expense for a good canopy
Thanks for the tip......I'm curious as to whether the prices currently listed will be the sale prices? Just bought the backpack chair from them.....if the price goes down in a few days, I wonder if they'll credit me the difference.
Thanks for the REI tip. I just called the local store this AM to check on some supplies I need. I was gonna go by today but I'll wait 'til Friday to go by now. Karma for you, Dr.
Has anyone seen or used this? The picture online is not as good as the pic in the ad; it can be collapsed down, and carried in it's own tote, just like a camp chair. Sounds perfect for Roo portability!
Those blankets look really awesome, Those were posted somewhere before, and I think I might pick one up...
I thought you would have gone gaga over the portable hammock......weren't you looking for something like that?
I'm going to my local BB&B this weekend to check it out.
Its an AWESOME hammock, for sure. But, I dont think I could replace the hammock part with my own hammock, you know what I mean? The stand would be great, but the hammock I have sags a lot more than that one, and I dont think it would fit right...

I am dead set on bringing my hammock to Roo. I can't find a good stand for it though. The hammock is regular sized (fits 2 people) and the stand that I have is freakin' HUGE and weighs 50lbs. I can't find a lightweight stand that'll fit a regular sized hammock. Bah! It's making me mad.
I gave up on it, really, cause I dont think I will be driving down anyway. Looks like, however, I am lightweight enough to do it with a few fence poles dug a few feet into the ground.
The stand is the problem. I always bring mine but I have a truck so the 3 piece frame is no problem. I'm bringing some fence posts and a post driver that may work for lighter people (or it may not). Your welcome to grab a couple posts and try it.
if you want to go simple with coffee you can just bring a very small pot , a sterno can, and something to put over it. takes a few minutes to boil the water and then you add instant coffee. Its a light-weight solution and it takes a little time to do though.
I usually solo so I have a little 4 cup percolator and an esbit stove (fits in your back pocket uses cheap solid fuel) and it will perc enough real coffee for one in about 10 minutes. Ran out to REI and got some more fuel today.
BTW REI had a 12 cup perc for $13 (got one for the brunch) and the Columbian hats were on sale for $18. You can also get a 15% off coupon if you sign up for the newsletter online.

Just checked out the hammock & portable stand......not as nice as I would have liked (and you must use the hammock that comes with it), but I will still likely buy it. For $78 (with coupon), you can't beat it.....
Hey everyone! This is my first roo, and my first post!!!! I'm sooo excited. Anyways, I went to Big Lots to check out and see if they had any hammocks that were in their ad... and they were sold out. But I did come across canopies.... cheap. I got a 12X12 for $30. That is a LOT cheaper than any of them that I've seen. So tomorrow, if it's not raining, I was going to set it up and see how it will hold up and whether it is totally craptastic or not and then let you guys know. Sounds like a good deal for those only looking to use it for Bonnaroo.
Thanks for everyone that has been posting.... I have found so much useful infomation on Inforoo. You guys have helped me plan for what seems like will be an incredible time!!! Thanks! You guys rock!
yea, that canopy sucked.... i took it back. The poles just bent under the prssure of the canopy when i was putting it up. But on a side note... I got a 3 man tent on sale at dicks for 39.99. It's pretty nice too.

So you set up the tent already? How'd it go?
It was pretty easy to set up. I did it all by myself and it's prolly the second tent i've ever put up, so if I can do it, that says alot. haha. It's nice, seems like it will hold up well. I'm very happy with the purchase :-) My friends came over and set theirs up, which they also got at dick's for 39.99. It was this one tinyurl.com/2rasts which was just like the one I set up and it seems like a good tent also. So either way, I think you'll be happy with either. There are only 2 of us in that tent, so it's perfect size!

Through amazon.com I got this Wenzel 12 by 12 tent named "Castle Rock" for $105 with free shipping. I know amazon no longer has it available but if you google it you will find other providers. I set up the other day and it only took 25 minutes by myself, and you can stand all the way up inside even if you are taller (I am 6"1'). I recommend it to anyone that does not have a tent yet. tinyurl.com/2yummf

I don't know if this was already mentioned, the sportsman's guide has great deals on just about anything you could need. Here's the link, www.sportsmansguide.com

I posted this in another thread but it may be better put here.
This hammock was in the K-Mart circular. It is a folding one that will make transportation easy. It is only 49.99. I am going to go see if they have any at my local store. I will let you know how it looks.

Damn! I drove all the way to the nearest K-Mart (none are close by), and they didn't have any hammocks left for me to look at. I did, however, get a raincheck, which will freeze that price for a month. It looks pretty much the same as the one I found at BB&B, but MUCH cheaper.
