Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
There's only going to be aesthetic differences between those two really. There is a big difference between their sidewalk surfers (which they both are) and their shoes (which is what I have been wearing recently).
I loved my Vagabonds til a rabid groundhog attacked them a few years ago - especially horrifying since they were on my feet at the time.

Y'all, I've said it so many times, there are no better Roo shoes than Keens!!
I have multiple pairs of the Venice H2 and the Newport H2 and both are perfect for Bonnaroo terrain and weather. I also have their leather sandals, boots and hiking shoes..... I really should have shares in the company at this point.....

I've been wearing Sanuk's for the past three years and they are amazing! However, I just bought a pair of Keen's (Newport H2), and I was thinking that they would have to be great on the farm...I went camping and hiking last weekend and wore them the whole time, through creeks and over rocks and everything, and they were super-comfortable...so this year I'm doing Sanuk's and my Keen's...

Good plan!! I really do love their shoes SO much. Plus you can put them in the washer and dryer! I have one pair that is 8 years old and I still wear them and you can't tell how old they are
I've done Sanuks (vagabonds) as well for each of my three Roos. Never had an uncomfortable moment, I've loved em. However, we haven't had to deal with hardly any mud for the past three. I got my first pair of Tevas this winter and will be bringing those as well this year!

I will once again be wearing my Sketchers with memory foam as I have found they handle pretty much any situation I'm at Roo. Plus they feel like Heaven on my feet when I'm tired.

So my Keen's were the way to go, so much better than my Sanuk's...the more-durable sole on the Keen's made a huge difference...

These sandals from nomadic have worked great for me over the years. I find sandals to be great just no flip flips. They also have a vendor tent at bonnaroo!

Where teh Sanuk dealz at? I'm trying to get excited for Summer, even though it was about 30 degrees here today.
And I'm going to Denver and Colorado Springs in late April (woohoo!). Never been there before, no idea what the weather will be like then, and I'm packing light and only want to bring the shoes on my feet. No hiking involved. Any recommendations based on the weather/climate? No pressure, since when the day comes I'll certainly ignore any and all advice and wear whatever the hell I want anyway, and pack a second pair. Adidas Swift R's have become my daily go-to, when it isn't snowing, and the current pair will need to be replaced soon anyway. If it sounds like I'm making excuses to buy new shoes, yes, always.
Just got a pair of Dickie's work boots and some screwdrivers from Sears for so ridiculously cheap that I can't even remember a number to brag about, due to Shop Your Way surprise points. I can't say I recommend Sears (I'm not 80), or that I know where a B&M Sears still exists, but it's worth checking your Sears/KMart/SYW account once in a while, I guess.

I just scored a pair of Tevas (with the velcro strap and whatnot) for a song. Never thought I wanted them, and I do prefer more toe protection a la Keen Newports, Sanuks, or Birkenstock Bostons, but these are pretty dang comfy. Haven't been able to wear them much because mother nature played an April Fool's joke on us and brought some unwelcome snow, but now I see why Teva junkies are so adamant about their sandals of choice. My Sanuk Got My Backs are still my favorites, but these will definitely get some use this summer.
Sidenote: I tried on a pair of Crocs that were reminiscent of Sanuk Sidewlak Surfers and very un-Croc like. Pretty nice really, but the Tevas spoke to me and I have a bit of a shoe problem already.
I wore these out in daily life and at festivals from like 2012-2015 or maybe even longer, to the point that I threw them away, and now they're 350 bucks in my size aftermarket on StockX. Not that I could ever resell or even wear my pair now.
Nice to know I had good taste, I guess. I would love to get another pair at some point but I'm gonna need to have money to blow.

lmao they were stained by the parking lot of the galleria
My Tevas that I got in Roo 16 are still holding strong, and they're a go-to sandal for me in the summer. Only thing I don't like about 'em is all the pebbles I get under my toes at Roo, but I don't know if that's enough for me to get a different pair.

I have fallen in love with my HOKA shoes, that I got for nursing, but not sure I want to wear $160 dollar shoes to Bonnaroo. Does anyone know of shoes that are similar but cheaper?

If anyone hasn't tried out the brand On, their shoes are pretty pricy ($130-160) but come in waterproof options and are bar none the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Some of my friends in the healthcare industry got them for free during the pandemic, and that's all they wear now (and all I wear now after their stellar reviews).

So I got a pair of Brooks Ghost 4. I really don't want to wear them to Bonnaroo so what should I buy?!
Those are good shoes. I wore a pair of Brooks Glycerin half the time last year, and they worked out well. Got a little blister from Sanuks on my little piggy on Thursday but put a bandaid on right away and it was no problem.
I wear Sanuks a lot in the summer when chilling but Roo can be a lot of walking. If you go with running-style shoes, it's probably best to prioritize breathability. The cushioning level shouldn't matter all that much. Honestly, whatever you're comfortable in normally is probably best, and a festival is not the time to break in a new pair (don't ask me how I know).
There were a lot of young girls in Dr. Martens last year, enough that I noticed. They looked cool but clunky boots would be the last thing on my list, and I walk several miles a day in hikers at work.

Thanks for the insight. I thought about all terrain Skechers. I have to have support because of the left leg.
Hmm, I'm not an expert so I can't give you a recommendation, but I've had some adidas trail shoes that I thought were very supportive, and I loved them. Something like the Terrex AX3 or AX4 might be looking into. I had a couple pairs of AX2 and Swift R that had the same soles as the AX3. They look like running shoes but are definitely more of a hiking shoe and not something you'd want to run in - stiffer soles, less cushioning, but not uncomfortable for a lot of walking or standing. They did well for me at Roo. Just a thought, I don't know Skechers very well.

I fuckin' love my Merrell Moab 3s, had the ones and twos for probably 15 years, one pair each. Just upgraded to the 3 a few months ago and they're as wonderful as always. Supportive, not too hot, fuckin' love the Vibram soles too.

I love those things. I stopped using the pair I have because I like wide width and got them on clearance without thinking about it. Just looked them up and they do come in wide width. I think I'm going to have to pull the trigger on those grey ones.
