Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
As to my suggestions - Rose Hill Drive is performing a complete version of "Band of Gypsys" on NYE, so a recreation of this late night would be amazing. I don't know what kind of chance this has of happening, I wouldn't imagine very good, but it would blow my mind.
K + to you man, Cake would be WICKED at Roo - my wife and I have thought that before!
I'm still saying Isis would bend people if they played as well, but Cake would be way up on my wish list.
One of the more remarkable acts I've seen in the last 5 years or so was Isis in Pennsylvania, but Cake would have EVERYONE into their set.
Nice suggestion!
PS - Anyone else think Shpongle needs to have a one off ? I think Shpongle would be one hell of a performance to see and would really alter some realities for the audience...

Great suggestions floating around in this thread -- ones that really get me excited for lineup announcements.
I saw Cake a few years back with the Walkmen -- phenomenal show, Cake would be excellent at 'Roo.
I feel like this is the year for Ryan Adams to finally rip through a sweltering mid-afternoon set full of rollicking rockers, Dead covers, and guest spots galore. Why not let one of the most rambunctious alt-country kids tear up 'Roo?
The Hold Steady's "Chillout Tent" is basically a Bonnaroo anthem, just replace "Western Massachusetts" with "Good Ol' Tennessee"
Bright Eyes has a new album out April 10th, I see them as almost a lock for Bonnaroo this year, considering their performance last year and Conor's social network (he can garner as many guest spots as any at the fest, and we all know how exciting guest spots are).
Kings of Leon also have a new album coming out. Tell me you don't want to see the homestate heroes play another infinitely energetic set.
How about Yonder Mountain String band? I bet they are there this year.
Cake has also been on my list for a while. They are due to make an apperance. I am also waiting for the Violent Femmes to make an apperance. They would fit in well with the Bonnaroo scene.
I do like the Cake idea. An ex-roommate told me he saw them a few years ago and said it was a very good show. I don't know too much of their catalog, besides of course "the distance" and a friend's random playing of their newest CD, but I like what I've heard and I think it would fit well.
When Ryan Adams played Lollapalooza he played three Dead covers in an hour set and apparently caught flack for it from the newspapers and reviewers. I think he'd probably be a little better off trying it at Bonnaroo, although I don't know if he's touring and there's a good chance he'll be working on yet another album this June.
I caught Kings of Leon at ACL and wasn't impressed at all. The crowd in front of me seemed to enjoy it, though, so if they were to go and garner a big crowd all the better. It would draw people away from whoever I wanted to see opposite.
YMSB seems like a good choice, I think they played Vegoose and were obviously absent at the 2006 Roo, so they probably go in the same boat as SCI, WP, Tea Leaf, and so on.

Cake would be awesome live! Though I have seen them twice and they "seem" a tad uptight and might not be into the festival scene. But then again who am I to judge?
I would really like to see Dinosaur JR/The Fog(or whatever the current name is).

I didnt know that^ either, i like those odds. How bout a hootie and the blowfish show, i think thatd be a cool afternoon show, havnt seen them live though. Their tour dates stop june 1st, so it seems like it should be open.

I saw them at ACL in 2004, they put on a great show and it was a festival so don't rule them out.

Thanx for the info about Cake doing festivals! I think they would be a great lead-in to a headliner. Ala Beck before Radiohead last year.
Not sure Cake has the popularity to really land a spot like this. Though it would be awesome, it seems like they have significantly less draw than Beck. They do put on a kickass live show though, full of audience sing alongs.

I know for sure they won't get a spot like that. Daytime tent maybe.
For headliner lead-ins i'm thinking: - Ben Harper - My Morning Jacket (they actually deserve to headline but doubt that will happen. 2008 maybe) - Umphrey's McGee - The Flaming Lips (Late night tent would be better though) - White Stripes - QOTSA - Erykah Badu

After seeing MMJ in the late night slot last year I can't imagine them NOT playing after sunset again. Jim James holding his lantern, creeping around like a mountain lion...it was perfect midnight drama.
