The Slip, i think they played the first or second year, but i didn't hear about them till a couple months ago, their new album, one of the best of 2006 is freaking awesome, their like a mix of jam and indie which is where bonnaroo is right now, they deserve the which stage though, could open for really anybody, would like to see them open for the decemberists, another awesome album of 2006

I agree- I heard of them (I might have had a track or two) pre-2006, but their new album has been in heavy rotation for me lately.

i'm new, so i'll give a list (in no particular order, except pgroove, which are my fave)
perpetual groove moe. rhythm devils groundation kokolo albino! the debonaires buju banton steve kimock band spam allstars tiesto galactic dubconscious moonshine still tea leaf green i'd like to see jack johnson, ben harper (solo acoustic), and the wailers again... deep banana blackout i really liked buddy guy last year, so some more blues would be cool santana hydra chris berry and panjea aquarium rescue unit bonobos convergance new monsoon extra golden (i wish) cadillac jones more reggae! more afrobeat! just lots of music, that's my battle cry.
I think Daniel Johnston is a possibility this year
He's apparently playing the Highline Festival in NYC this year, but I don't see him playing another gig (let alone a gig on the scale of Bonnaroo) outside of Texas in the calendar year. It's just really rare for him to travel extensively given his mental state.
"Canada's most remarkable export in years, indie-rockers Arcade Fire, have been busy gearing up for the release of a new album this spring, but will hit the road soon for a series of shows to unveil the new material.
"The band promises that more dates for 2007 will be announced in the coming weeks."
I'm with you, here's to hoping they'll play. I think there's a good chance they've been at least approached about playing. If AC is truly internet active he will have seen all the Roosters wishing for them.

I think arcade fire would be a very cool late night show.
Hell yeah! I saw Arcade Fire in September '05 and it was mind-blowing. They have a larger than life presence on the stage. Their songs would work wonderfully after midnight too.
he was at langerado and wakerusa last year, and releases at least 2 cds a year. i would litteraly do back flips if he was playing this year.
it seems to be really love/hate with him, some people totally get him, and other people think its a joke.
i would love to see buckethead there. i think at times they may be a bit too 'heavy' for the bonnaroo crowd though.
if you check out the bootlegs from langerado and wakerusa, it seems like he sticks to his more mellow stuff for these kinds of fests. your probobly reffering to the cds "cuckoo clocks of hell" and "kaladescalp" which are very heavy, but he doesnt usually play songs from that cd live.
plus, him and claypoole have done some sick collaborations (i.e Colonel claypooles bucket of bernie brains, ect.) me and my friends have been stumped as to why he hasnt really broken through the in jame scene yet.
they'd be a fantastic addition to rodrigo y gabriela[/quote Palooza was lucky to even book the guy last year, though its not out of reach for Chao to play roo.
I like all the suggestions. Buckethead solo would be good, but CCBoBB would be amazing. I was just listening to their 2002 Bonnaroo set and it's awesome. Four immensely talented musicians.
Since they're playing Coachella a month and a half before, I'll hope Rodrigo y Gabriela are there. I don't have any of their recorded work, but all of their videos are really good and they were great on Letterman. I don't know much about Manu Chao, but it seems like the kind of music I'd like.
Hey, about that Manu Chao show at Lolla, what was the crowd like? I know he was dead against Kanye, so I'd imagine that would draw away a huge chunk of the crowd.

It was one of the most energetic crowds i've ever been a part of, there was not one person standing still, you couldnt help but dance your arse off.....
i purposely avoided Kanye, I didnt even know Manu Chao, i just knew i wanted nothing to do with the crowds rushing across Grant Park....i was so glad to have made that decision. i would love to see him again.
I'd love to see Manu Chao live at Bonnaroo because from I've listened to/watched on the internet I don't understand what the fuss is about. Rodrigo y Gabriela on the other hand I get, and seem like they would be a great fit for Bonnaroo.

A small section of the rock scene that Bonnaroo hasn't really delved into is the unabashedly pop-rock scene. I nominate Tally Hall as an excellent live show, a good fit for an open-minded Bonnaroo, and as all-around quality musicians.
