Our tuxedo boy, Luka managed to tear open a “hot hands” hand warmer overnight. Doesn’t look like he actually ingested much if any (mouth was not stained yellow from iron), and they appear to be made from pretty natural ingredients, but I’m wondering if anybody would recommend an emergency vet visit, in case there is something I’m missing?
meet our new family member James! he's 2 years old and an american bulldog mix. a year ago he got hit by a car, the local animal shelter got him fixed up and he's been fostered since then until we adopted him.
he's a sweet well-behaved boy and is completely obsessed with my wife. he thinks i'm OK.
quite a change going from just having our old dog to having a young dog again! luckily it seems like he just needs one good long walk/run per day and then he becomes a couch potato. which is fine it gets us outside and moving which is good for everyone.

i think it's my deep knowledge of bonnaroo that she fell in love with. whenever she starts hinting at leaving me i just start opining over dinner about how it's bonnaroo's fault for scheduling Tame Impala for longer than their regular set length and she gets all starry-eyed.
What a cutie. I have that same Grogu, btw. Tyger loves it, but he loves all squishes.
Yeah we keep naively buying squishies thinking they'll be for humans but they always end up being for dogs.
I'm currently lying on the couch with a squish under my left arm, a squish in my lap with my tablet on it so I can read. In the corner to my left, Tyger is laying on his own squish. I replaced all the couch pillows with squishes and wash them every so often. Grogu is floor puppy pillow since he's so large.

Found two kittens in the road. I'll post pictures later but they're in a crate while my cat figures out what's going on. If anyone is in the market for a cat(s) hmu. Or if you want to throw a couple bones toward a vet bill PM me. One of them has goopy eyes and probably needs to see one sooner rather than later.
The newest member of our household zoo. This is Coco but the rescue called him Stumpy because he’s a Chiweenie. I’ve just been calling him that as it was my grandfather’s nickname for me and felt relevant. Super smart and loves belly rubs and I'm here for that.
Cats do not care about squishes. They do however love the box the squishy came in.
Somebody studying something about cats laid out a square on the floor with tape. Cats went and sat in the square like it was a box. They actually do explore and display dominance or claim ownership by sitting in/on anything new. And they can just be curious goofballs, of course.
It feels odd writing this just days after adding a new member to my family. My sweet girl passed in her sleep last night. She was cuddled in my arms and let go.

Thank you. I’m coping but having fits of ugly crying and trying to get stuff typed in between.
We’re not sure what happened. She was handling the change well and then yesterday went to shit. I spent most of the day in the vets office. They couldn’t find anything.
The only thing I can figure is she got into something but I can’t figure out what.
Either way, this is hard. I haven’t felt this bad since we lost our last dog a few years ago.

I'm so sorry. It's so hard and painful. I hate that after getting a new family member you are going through that.
I had to let Maya go April 17, and I'm still having a hard time and bouts of teary breakdowns. Big hugs. ❤️

It sucks to not know why. When Murray went, he was old and we knew he wasn’t going to live forever, but his health took a hard turn one day, and it really caught us off guard. They’re little family members, they deserve to be cried for and we deserve to feel our sad feelings about losing them.

but GL i'm glad you brought a new buddy into your home. absolutely adorable pup. i think for people who like pets its important to keep giving them good homes. losing our Neko last Fall was so awful but so worth it for the joy she gave us for the fourteen years we had her.

There’s talk of adding his sister to the mix. We never intended for him to be a solo pupper and it just makes sense right now. I’ll keep you updated. The past few days I just keep asking him if he got me Taco Bell and he just stares at me blankly.
For real though, I’m so sorry about Loki. For however much of an asshole he was, I also know how much they meant to you guys. Sending hugs your way for both you and Mr Druid.

Can confirm she was a sweet girl. When I met her, it took her about twenty seconds to figure out she just had another middle aged guy that she could bend to her will, and she was exceedingly pleased.
