i dont even know what to say right now... i totally fooled myself into thinking coachella already had happened because we had already gone through april. just wow haha. (lack o corn does to me what plenty of it does to others i guess)
yea roo is lacking in the electronic department compared to Coachella
hahahahahahahaha, like that's news. ;D
well this year more than any other I feel. Hoping there is something in the additions if we ever get any. Id like to make it out to Coachella at least once. Just so far away lol

i am not saying it needs to rival coachella, but there should at least be a FEW decent acts on the lineup. I also like how coacahella's tents are different in that they appear to be entirely closed in (can someone confirm?). i think this better suits a tent that is just for electronica/dance acts. Roo could go for adding something like their sahara tent, but just not adding tons of electronic artists.

I don't think they're closed in. That's not how I remember them at all. I went in 2007.

The first and second tier of Saturday look really weak, Killers, M.I.A., Thievary Corp? Really for the flagship day of one of the biggest festivals? Friday looks amazing though, Macca, Morrisey, Franz, Leonard Cohen. Holy shit.
the electronic (Sahara) tent is about 75% closed in. Not my type of music, but the light shows in there were insanity, even at 2pm.
The main reason Coachella destroys Roo as far as electronic music goes is because the dedicate a tent to it, all day every day. Works well for the people that want to see that stuff, but the bass can be heard at two other tents which can get rather annoying
Thats why Bonnaroo is way, way better than Coachella and I laugh at those who say otherwise. At Bonnaroo every band booked gets AT LEAST one hour for a show. To put in perspective; the cafe acts at Bonnaroo, bands who are quite talented, are fairly unknown. Yet, they get the same amount of time as legends like Morrissey and Leonard Cohen do at Coachella.
Now, I am not here to say Coachella is bad. Not the case. I feel that Coachella is greatly hindered by noise ordinances in the area, thus a midnight curfew.

To me the ultimate judge of a festy isn't the lineup, but how the lineup breaks down on the schedule. Overall Coachella has a solid 09 lineup but looking at the schedule there are some pretty big meh gaps. I'm not so die-hard about the shorter set times (in my experiences a tight, bangin 45 mins usually beats a more languid 90) but having two or three hour holes without at least one band I'm excited out is questionable...
