I know its all Wanee talk right now, but ITS BACK!!!! Nov 14-17. get excited
Lineup should be out next month, so far they have posted Dumpstaphunk Galactic GreenHouse Lounge Toubab Krewe Zach Deputy Antibalas Skerik Skerik Pimps of Joytime Alan Evans Trio
I love that line up already! It is Wanee talk right now, but I am always ready for some Bear Creek talk! Funk yeah.
and " Wait'll you hear who's the headliner?"
I hope it is Bootsy Collins! He owes Bryan Christopher a redo form 2011!
I assumed that Bootsy was kangfirm'd based on their March 19th post.
Well yes, that has been mentioned, but seriously, is that source reliable?
Just as reliable as their Galactic, Pimps of Joytime, Antibalas, and Alan Evans Trio announcements. They didn't specifically say they will be at Bear Creak but it's kinda obvious they were/are in the process of booking them.
They specifically told us that Skerik, Zach Deputy, Toubab Krewe, and Greenhouse Lounge will be there. And they implied that Dumpstaphunk will be there.

I already love this line up! FUNK yeah! I love how "they" are horrible at keeping secrets.
Not going this year b/c we are going to have an infant round then (my one year of missing BC in the last four years) but honestly I am slightly disappointed by this year's lineup. Funky? Yes. Mindblowing? Not so much.
I'm there for sure. Even if it's the only festival I hit after Hangout this year.
I'm loving the lineup, but I must say it's a bit weird not to see Dumpstaphunk on there....
I say Dumpsta will be there. They were promoting the drop of the line up yesterday on there faacebook page, so I would assume they will be on the line-up.
Ok, I just tallied up the vacation days with what I have planned thus far, I will have 2 vacation days left come November. So as long as I can withstand not going to MOEMS or FFF8, I am in.
Bear Creek seems to be more or less hinting Galactic and Dumpsta will be there. On their facebook they posted this in response to someone's comment asking about if they'd be there:
Bear Creek Music & Art Festival Brock Paulling, Skerik is on there. Galactic and Dumpstas have something in common that prevents us announcing them today, were they on our line-up. It happens in one week at the same site. And Klaw, well, you gotta figure that will happen.
Doesn't really come up like on fbook, but the name after Bear Creek Music and Art Festival is the name of the person they were responding to

Another beautiful lineup for a magical place. Bonobo is a great addition. I keep thinking about the party Antibalas would bring. Hope you guys get another mind blowing visit and 30 minute tale from the Purple Waffle Dragon.

Has anyone heard a rumor about a possible fest on Oct 31-Nov 2 at Wanee with SCI and STS9 headlining? I was on another board and saw where more than one person said they saw a draft of the Halloween fest's flyer while they were at Wanee.

I did hear that rumor at Wanee as well. I'm so down with this lineup, tickets in the bag. Someone would have to die for me not to be there, and by someone I mean me.
The Halloween SCI rumor was leaked at Wanee and it comes from mutilple sources and what I would call reliable sources. What I do not like is they said it would be announced on Tuesday and we are now on Thursday. I did not here about STS9. I have heard some of the members, EOTO guy, may stay at the park, so if that old rumor is true, I could see STS9 playing as well.
Short-Cut Camp shall be back. We will be Under Water themed and hope all join us in the magical celebration of FUN. Gets those creative juices flowing, we only have 6 months.
I agree Funky, this line up rocks. I am calling it the best BC line up yet, for me.
I'm thinking that maybe an agreement was made with Bear Creek to have their tickets on sale for a certain amount of time before the SCI announcement is made. I just want to know the exact dates. I hope it's the weekend before Voodoo so I can do all 3. Gonna end up borrowing vacation days from next year because of this shit.

This is killing me! I can only stalk the internet for so long before I go fucking crazy.
But, yeah. I've been hearing Cheese, STS9, Big Gigantic Hulaween rumors for a while now. Only I've been hearing New York. If they do SotSMP, I'll be planning two trips nearly back to back, because I'm in for Bear Creek!
Warning: If you like funk music and experience Bear Creek once, you will be hooked for life. Not very many people are there compared to large festivals...maybe 10-12K give or take. The campgrounds are the best. I prefer to camp by the lake because the sunrise there is spectacular and it's in between the main venues and the campground stage & silent disco.
I might camp with Scrog at his shortcut camp this year though since I may not have a friend to hold down a spot by the lake this year (My friend is having a baby this year and they might not make it to Bear Creek). The amphitheater is the most magical outdoor venue in the world. These pictures from Wanee last weekend are worth more words than I feel like typing right now about that stage:
Bear Creek gets the edge over Wanne IMO because they have 5 stages of music that's more to my liking while wanee only has 2. Disperses the crowd more so it's even easier to get close for sets if you feel like it.
I wouldn't worry about VIP unless you plan on buying a shitload of alcohol inside (discounted drinks) and want the official poster, shirt, etc. We just run back to camp and chug a beer, take a shot, and then sneak a beer in. haha. It's also easier to sneak beer in at Bear Creek because it's cold and you can put a beer in your jacket. I would just get regular plus thursday pass and do the payment plan. $175 in 5 payments = $35 a month. It does look like they are doing more for VIP this year than last year though so it might be worth it if you have an extra $125 to spare. I'd rather spend that on party favors, firewood, food, and beer.
