I just sent this email to them. Everyone flood the mail box with similar.
PLEASE do not do this. It is unfair to everyone, especially those who have already bought tickets. The tickets already go up in price every year and has made this one of the most expensive music festivals in the world, and without reason. There is nothing about roo to make it more expensive then the rest. Then to add another fee onto an already very expensive thing is unfair. If you continue going this route your attendance will decrease every year. Our country is not in a financial situation where everyone can fork out a thousand dollars to attend a festival. You already have extra fees for justified things (groop camping, family camping, showers, vip, etc.) Those who choose to go the cheap root are usually doing so because they can't afford the more expensive options. This will be my 5th Bonnaroo, and will likely be my last. It is sad to say that as I now have a half sleeve Bonnaroo tattoo as it was such an amazing experience for me. Please do not make this experience unattainable for many of us and stop with these unnecessary fees.

Jesus Christ you guys, it's 60 bucks. It's still one of the cheapest big fests in the U.S. If 60 bucks more is a make or break kind of thing to you, then you probably shouldn't be frittering away your money on shit like music festivals in the first place. Rather than take up email campaigns or start petitions or any other thing that won't help a bit, take that time and go return some cans or sell some old shit you don't need any more, or work a couple extra hours. Hell, drink literally two beers less a week for the next 10 weeks and you'll be good.

I think I'm more upset with the fact at how they've gone about letting this come out. Also whats the point of having a survey if you're just going to conduct a survey with the big honchos at live nation and decide for us.

its sixty bucks, plus the ticket price raise
So we're looking at around a 80-100 increase in what we saw last year?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
This is what the Livenation offices look like today
Yes, I'm sure the folks running a company which produces 5.3 billion in revenue every year are just ELATED over a couple million extra. They legitimately do not give a shit about this. It's pocket change.
My gifs may have been in hyperbole but this is the definition of livenations game. Of course they enjoy putting on a good squeeze, corporate that is.
How will Tent Only work? Because I still have to show up in a car to get to Bonnaroo. I mean I know I'd still be taking up space, but it seems kind of silly to pay a fee for a car I won't be using.

It has a lot less to do with the money than it does with the fact that they're charging extra for something that has always been free, without adding any extra value.
It reality, even if you camp with 2 - 3 people then a $20 - $30 increase isn't much when compared to the total cost of attendance. But charging extra for something when it's never been that way before and not providing any additional value to the consumer is the definition of a cash grab.
If Bonnaroo comes out and says "We're charging $60 per car, but because of this we anticipate a 15% reduction in overall traffic which means less wait times and we're increasing the size of the camping spots by 15%" then so be it. The money is a minor inconvenience but if you're providing me with some additional benefit then I can at least understand it.
But they better announce something quickly because right now it looks like a poorly rolled out cash grab.
Just reading the print at the bottom of that screen shot that said VIP, Groop, RV Oasis, and Tent City people didn't need passes.
tent only people gotta park their cars somewhere. so your standard tent only patron will still need to buy a parking pass. who the hell walks onto the farm? I walked on after parking at the winery one day two years ago and it was a nightmare.

Quick question: did you ever demand an explanation when they've raised ticket prices? Have they ever offered one? If not, then how is this different? I mean, shit - if anything, you all should have been up in arms last year when they jacked up ticket prices, then offered the shittiest lineup I can ever remember them putting out, plus fewer artists and shorter set times.
Actually people were up in arms last year about the lineup, number of artists, and especially the shortened set times. Someone on here actually counted the amount of total music that would be playing that year compared to previous years.

They figured out a way to fuck people like you, too. There's a car PARKING pass for people just parking and then there's the car CAMPING pass for people camping by their car.

Nope, never raised a concern with them raising prices on tickets and it's never bothered me. I just assume that there's excess demand and they can make a bigger profit by charging a higher price and getting less people through the door. I understand their business and I respect that. I may not like it because I have to pay more, but I respect it. Hell, I get that it doesn't necessarily lead to a better lineup.
But charging people for camping, which is part of your product, seems like a cash grab. You're segmenting off parts of your business and are now charging for them separately. So now this year when there's a price increase we'll be paying more for a ticket, but getting less of the overall product since we're essentially paying for camping separately.
I'm not trying to give some "Radiate Positivity" BS, it just seems like a terrible strategy. I've worked for organizations that have pulled similar shit and it doesn't end well for anyone.

There's an added $10 grass fee. If you get lucky and are parked on plain dirt you don't have to pay this but if your one of the cars that gets parked beside nice, fresh grass then that's an extra few bucks.

Oh well damn, as long as they don't take away Tent Only I'm good. But I might be doing Pre show volunteering this year anyways. So I'm not even sure if I'd be able to trek off to Tent Only once the festival starts anyways

The real question is whether there will be a tent only. If you read under the day pass, it is says that "there is no camping accompanied with this pass." I think that would be worse, no Tent Only option.
Just reading the print at the bottom of that screen shot that said VIP, Groop, RV Oasis, and Tent City people didn't need passes.
It said "you do not need one of these passes". Which makes me think that Groop and Tent City will required you to have a different pass at a different price.

Oh great now I'm nervous. Not having a Tent Only option would make me mad

Are you taking the opposite side just because? I don't see how being annoyed with an additional fee, if true, is so absurd. The rise in ticket prices suck, but one should expect that with increasing music festival popularity, rising costs, etc., but this is a completely arbitrary fee that is an unnecessary way to nickle and dime attendees.

Groop has always been a separately ticketed pass. The difference is that Groop is charged per person and not per car. Same thing with Tent City. Those tents are way expensive.
