Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.

Groop has always been a separately ticketed pass. The difference is that Groop is charged per person and not per car. Same thing with Tent City. Those tents are way expensive.
Yeah, but if The Car Parking Pass is going to be $59.75 plus fees per car where you have not control of where your camping spot is then I doubt Groop is going to stay at $35 per person where you know what area your camping is.
Groop is apparently $50/person. Thanks for jinxing us with your logic, jerk.
I do wonder if presale is just getting a pass sent with their ticket. A friend went presale, but she's doing Groop, so she won't need it.
Yes but it might not go entirely to waste... If there are extra cars beyond what Groop allows for, then this will allow some leeway room without having to pay for parking those extra cars.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
You know camping was never free?? It was just previously included in the ticket price. You spent $300ish on tickets in the past and I'm sure that $2-10 of that 300 was allocated to preparing and maintaining the grounds. Camping is now an additional cost but it was never free. Some of the reasoning ability on this thread is frightening.
That's not true, dummy. I get my free VIP beer every year on Thursday night for a limited number of hours, says so right there on the site - "FREE BEER". I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I thought this was America!
I just noticed all the posts referencing this on the Inforoo Facebook page, and I honestly don't get all the hullabaloo. I went to Lockn' two years ago, and I had to pay extra for camping next to my car. If I recall, they also had extra fees for tent camping, forest camping, etc. That was a strictly-jam-band fest, and I still didn't hear people really bitching about it. Granted, the attendees could have been saving all their bitching for GMO crops and GMO-infused heady burritos, false flags and chemtrails. ... Whatever the case, I left the fest feeling like I got my money's worth, as did my friends.
It wasn't a separate charge before and now it is hence the freak out.
Yea, it's not just a price increase on something we've paid for every year. This is literally a "Oh hey....we can charge for parking, too? Let's do that" type of thing. If it contributes to the farm and we get real plumbing and better roads and things....great. But I'm not expecting to notice anything majorly different this year. We'll see.
So, assuming tent-only exists this year, what is the best/safest place outside the fest to park?
There is tent only. I am assuming if you drive you have to still buy a camping pass, but then you can trek over to tent only. It is on the accommodations page.
TENT-ONLY CAMPING
If you don’t have a vehicle, or if you don’t want to be camping next to your vehicle all weekend long, try our limited Tent-Only Camping areas near the Main Venue and Centeroo. Tent-Only Camping will be identified on your festival map. There will be no cars, motorcycles, jetpacks, hovercraft, nothing allowed in this area (in fact, all of these will be towed) other than you and your tent.
Tent-Only Camping benefits:
Nice and close to the Main Venue and Centeroo Close to General Stores, concessions and other services No cars or vehicular traffic in this camping area Here’s how it works: If you have a car, come in through the regular Tollbooths and park as if you’re going to camp with your vehicles. Then just leave your car behind and hoof it with your gear to the Tent-Only Camping area. You can not drive your car there to drop your stuff off, so pack light. It’s a distance – a backpack or small luggage cart might help. If you don’t have a car, you’ll still get your wristband put on at the tollbooth, then just follow the signs to Tent-Only Camping.
The space for Tent-Only Camping is limited, and is filled first-come, first-served (so, if you want this prime spot, get here early). If you’re last-come, no worries – you still have the camping space that goes with your vehicle.

Its a transparent way to actually raise the ticket price through the guise of a parking and camping pass rather than to just jack up the prices of the "GA ticket" an additional 60 or so bucks.
Hopefully the crazy increase this year compared to the more gradual increases of past years leads to more improved infrastructure, more higher tier bands, and even less congestion in GA Camping.

I know last year people were walking in, I've never done that. I'd assume they couldn't charge a park fee if I come in on foot. It's really not that big a deal. I plan to just pay the $60.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Jesus Christ you guys, it's 60 bucks. It's still one of the cheapest big fests in the U.S. If 60 bucks more is a make or break kind of thing to you, then you probably shouldn't be frittering away your money on shit like music festivals in the first place. Rather than take up email campaigns or start petitions or any other thing that won't help a bit, take that time and go return some cans or sell some old shit you don't need any more, or work a couple extra hours. Hell, drink literally two beers less a week for the next 10 weeks and you'll be good.

I see they announced permanent showers and toilets, along with the waterline being installed on site. I'm hoping this fee negates any charges for showers or anything. I also am wondering if this fee is where that $150,000 needed for the waterline came from.

That's also what I'm thinking too. Bonnaroo is trying to raise money to upgrade the water system.

That's not going to happen. Probably more expensive if they will be nicer.
I have a water system for showering at camp. While the showers may be nicer now, I still plan on doing the same thing I've always done. Bc i think you're right.... It will probably cost more now for showers. Wasn't last year $10 a pop??

yes $10 a pop, but they did have some happy hour thing also where they were half price. If I was in GA and had to pay for a shower, I would totally buy one of those shower things. I am a dirty girl and there is no way I can do Bonnaroo without a daily shower. I guess I am not that dirty of a girl.
I'm just going to leave it at this so I don't get cranky as a motherfucker. But some of us only get to have one vacation a year and sometimes we are fucking dirt poor and yes 60 dollars does fucking matter. So while we might have to stomach the increase. FUCK YOU. BEING POOR ISN'T EASY AND TRYING TO ENJOY ONE FUCKING FESTIVAL A YEAR SEEMS GODDAMN NORMAL TO ME.

SIGNING THE FUCK OFF.
I understand and am in the same boat. I struggle every year to pay, usually fall behind on bills for it. But I consider it worth it. All my friends so far that are going this year are volunteering as they can't really afford it either. But I refuse to volunteer as it is a vacation and I do not want to work. But as such I won't be able to camp with them, so that sucks.
Maybe I'm lacking empathy here, but I kind of feel if going to Roo stresses out your finances that much than maybe you can try to find a more budget friendly vacation. Maybe a smaller fest?

It's a fair point to make but in this situation there's a large amount of us who look at Bonnaroo as a music festival AND a reunion where we get to see, meet, and hang with the people we spend the rest of the year chatting online with. I barely get to see a lot of inforooers so I always have that in the back of my mind. Sure, I could go to Mountain Jam or do a 3-day to Governors Ball and maybe see one or two people from the boards but if I go to Bonnaroo I know I'll be meeting up with/camping with a bunch of friends from all around the country.

I always see people parking their car on a few properties around the entrance foo Roo. You may also be able to leave your car at the winery. I'm not sure on pricing but I'd bet it's less than $60.
4 people in a car means they have to pay an extra 15$ to attend Roo - seems like a cash grab. At least make it that the more people carpooling the less money you pay. 5 People per car 20$, 4 people per car $30, 3 people per car $40, 2 people $50, 1 person $60 (forever alone ).
I been to Roo the past 3 years, I rarely saw cars that had a single person in them. I seen cars parked with no people camping next to them. Those were the people who came in Friday evening or Saturday because they couldnt come in with their friends on a Wednesday. I dont think its right to charge them 60$ extra. Because those people are usually buying the last minute 3rd and 4th tier tickets that are already more expensive by 25$ or more.

Good point, I didn't think of it that way. Also, living in Chicago gives you a plethora of festivals to consider attending, and I suppose even doing a smaller fest for someone can be relatively equal in cost.

Where are you getting that math from? The parking pass is $60/car not per person. 1 person = $60 2 people = $30 3 people = $20 4 people = $15 5 people = $12
The explained why they are adding the parking pass, and if you already bought with the pre-sale you are exempt. I get being upset, especially since they didn't announce this prior to pre-sale, but they are actually using the money to improve the site (or so they say).
If you are seeing cars parked with nobody camped, they are probably tent only people. Most drop off their car and trek it over there.
