The real question is whether there will be a tent only. If you read under the day pass, it is says that "there is no camping accompanied with this pass." I think that would be worse, no Tent Only option.
Based on the screenshot, Tent Only could still work as it always has...first-come, first-served with the understanding that there is finite space. That being said, I, like you, have this sinking feeling that we're about to get bad news about Tent Only.

I don't think that they are going to do away with it altogether as there are those people that fly in and take their shuttle from the airport, but it may undergo a significant change in how it is set up.
It said "you do not need one of these passes". Which makes me think that Groop and Tent City will required you to have a different pass at a different price.
Groop has always been a separately ticketed pass. The difference is that Groop is charged per person and not per car. Same thing with Tent City. Those tents are way expensive.
Yeah, but if The Car Parking Pass is going to be $59.75 plus fees per car where you have not control of where your camping spot is then I doubt Groop is going to stay at $35 per person where you know what area your camping is.
Are you taking the opposite side just because? I don't see how being annoyed with an additional fee, if true, is so absurd. The rise in ticket prices suck, but one should expect that with increasing music festival popularity, rising costs, etc., but this is a completely arbitrary fee that is an unnecessary way to nickle and dime attendees.
It's funny that you mention "increasing popularity" and "rising costs" as reasons why you're okay with raising ticket prices. How do you know that's not what's contributing here? If there are more attendees, and they're taking more cars, then Bonnaroo needs to pay more to maintain the campgrounds, staff the tollbooths, hire parking help, etc. If you simply raise ticket prices, then you're charging everyone for that increased overhead - including those who maybe don't camp, who take shuttles in or day park. By adding the camping charge, you're actually making a very specific - and therefore non-arbitrary - effort to target what may be an area of increasing cost. Not to mention that it might encouraged carpools, which would again be beneficial for the festival.
Never said I was alright with any rising costs, just something that I expect to gradually increase. If those are the reasons for actually implementing this fee then I understand, but that should definitely be made known when it's announced. And I understand this leak probably beat them to any announcement. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the majority of that staff volunteers? Additionally, I would be all for paying this fee if it meant an additional entrance to lessen wait time in the beginning.

I have no idea if a new revenue stream will affect an existing one or not. Fwiw, groop was $40 last year, so another bump wouldn't be a total surprise.
Jesus Christ you guys, it's 60 bucks. It's still one of the cheapest big fests in the U.S. If 60 bucks more is a make or break kind of thing to you, then you probably shouldn't be frittering away your money on shit like music festivals in the first place. Rather than take up email campaigns or start petitions or any other thing that won't help a bit, take that time and go return some cans or sell some old shit you don't need any more, or work a couple extra hours. Hell, drink literally two beers less a week for the next 10 weeks and you'll be good.
i haven't seen anything yet with the price?
Did you ever find anything on the price? When I first read it I took it as more of a "You cant drive in with three cars for three people and expect three camping areas." sort of move. After having time to think about it I think it is more likely a way to get more money, but I guess I've just missed where the price is stated?
I checked the webpage and it says "Ah, good old festival camping. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
I am suddenly starting to understand the "dirty wooks" who said "Bonnaroo has changed man" when I started going in 2006....I still shower at least?

I'm still clueless as to where the 60 is coming from unless it's on the OP and I completely missed it on the screenshot
This has to be a fake right? People have already bought presale.
That's why I'm stressing. Pre-sale here and no mention of buying additional tickets. I'm so confused and I hope it isn't true. I guess I'm committed to buy a parking pass at this point but fuck.
They got it from the most reliable place ever.... REDDIT!

A post on reddit from a poster named remeard.
Here's the pricing, just got off the phone with the guy from Tickets Today. This is IN ADDITION to the price increase this year. Complete Bullshit.
Weekend $59.75
Day $39.75
Covers one vehicle and a spot next to your vehicle for camping.

It was posted on Reddit, but the actual information came from the Bonnaroo purchase page.

Another benefit is that it gives them a much more reliable number to work with in regards to how many cars to expect at the festival. I'm not saying it'll lead to bigger spaces or anything, but it would definitely help in the planning, i.e. not preparing fields that never get used.

Not the pricing though. That was from that dude that called some ticket place and they told him that.
I would love nothing more than for this to be a hoax. Im okay with overacting about something this close to the lineup dropping because I'm tense and ready for it to drop and I'm liable to believe anything at this point.

It's not, I searched the OP, convinced I had missed it. Someone else commented on the FB post about $60 but I still haven't gotten an answer as to where they got that information.
What if this is all some weird "leak" from LiveNation to see how Bonnaroo attendees would respond if they did add a parking fee? Lol.
So GA now costs over $450 (less if splitting car fee, but still over $400). Are any other fests this expensive for GA? It seems absolutely ridiculous. I do think this is my last year. I don't want to miss it as it's the 15th anniversary, but I think I will be going elsewhere next year.

Bonnaroo is $420-$445 (dependent on the price level you buy them at at the onsale plus whatever fees are associated with the car pass) Coachella is $498 (plus any fees) Lollapalooza is $335 (plus fees and lodging) ACL is $225/$250 (for three days dependent on price level plus lodging) Firefly is $522.98 (earlybird pricing including GA camping and fees) Governor's Ball is $330 (for three days including fees plus lodging) Sasquatch is $499.50 (plus fees) 2016 ticket info not found for Lockn' and Outside Lands.
If you're looking for a cheaper festival with the same caliber lineup, you're in for some work.
You know camping was never free?? It was just previously included in the ticket price. You spent $300ish on tickets in the past and I'm sure that $2-10 of that 300 was allocated to preparing and maintaining the grounds. Camping is now an additional cost but it was never free. Some of the reasoning ability on this thread is frightening.
Yes. But this year, compared to the people getting to pay the additional camping fee, it's basically like my camping IS free bc I did pre-sale. There's no reasoning behind it. I just like the word free. Free and Fee are just one letter apart

Not to nitpick, but Coachella tickets were $375 this year, so if you tack on $99 for the camping pass, you're at 474.
They're showing as $399 on the site now. Presale vs general, I guess.
Edit: Regardless, the main point remains that every other comparable festival is as or more expensive than Bonnaroo. Also, all the ones that offer camping charge for a separate pass.

I just noticed all the posts referencing this on the Inforoo Facebook page, and I honestly don't get all the hullabaloo. I went to Lockn' two years ago, and I had to pay extra for camping next to my car. If I recall, they also had extra fees for tent camping, forest camping, etc. That was a strictly-jam-band fest, and I still didn't hear people really bitching about it. Granted, the attendees could have been saving all their bitching for GMO crops and GMO-infused heady burritos, false flags and chemtrails. ... Whatever the case, I left the fest feeling like I got my money's worth, as did my friends.

It wasn't a separate charge before and now it is hence the freak out.
