Lollapalooza 96 newport, TN Soundgarden, Devo, Lost Boys, Rage against the Machine, Ramones, Rancid, Wu-Tang Clan, and Metallica. Soundgarden was drunk or something, DEvo was hilarious, Rage blew my mind, and Metallica thought they were the best thing since Hendrix.

Hubby was at that concert and said it totally rocked! He loved the Rage show. We went to one in Nashville later on together and it was wonderful as well Here's to Lollapalooza days gone by!
My first show was The Bee Gees at Madison Square Garden. My uncle took me, because he loved their 60's pop/rock - unfortunately this was during their Saturday Night Fever tour and all they played was disco (much to my uncle's dismay).
The first show with friends was The Ramones (at a tiny club - they played for about an hour straight, with the only breaks between songs consisting of Joey quickly counting out 1-2-3-4).
Most recent was Galactic (who I highly recommend checking out at Bonnaroo).
I saw New Kids on the Block when I was in kindergarten. By the time I reached fourth grade, my tastes had improved. For my birthday, I begged and my parents (who aren't music fans) took me to see Eric Clapton.
ME: "Hey mom, what's that smell?" MOM: "Never mind. It's not for you."
Ok, I wasn't going to post this embarrassment until I saw yours attornaroo. I also saw New Kids as my first show. It was 4th or 5th grade. I actually didn't even want to go, but a friend had tickets, and I thought I'd see how it was. Show sucked, but all the jumping, screaming teenage girls didn't hurt.

How about this for embarrassment... In my twenty plus years of existance... unless I happen to attend a show befor Bonnaroo this summer It will be my very first concert...
Sure I have been to club gigs and what not, I'm seeing TV on the Radio this week at the 40 watt in Athens GA, but never once have I been to a real concert

I'm pretty much bursting at the seems, chomping at the bit, whatever other proverbs you wish to throw at it...
But then also I'm scared out of my wits... I dont think i've ever seen that many people at once... the closest I've ever gotten to a crowd like that is JFK airport.

The Meat Puppets and Soul Asylum, At the University of Arizona Spring Fling in 1990 (maybe 91, I forget). I only stayed for the about two hours, but got to catch some of both bands. I remember Soul Asylum threatend to leave if people didn't stop throwing shoes at them Afterword, I asked my dad if that smell was marijuana. It was.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

1st concert w/ the parents: THE WHO in 1981 (my parents had good taste!)
1st big concert w/ friends: Metallica w/ Queensryche on the 'And Justice for All' tour (1989)
1st all day festival show: Lollapalooza 1 (summer 1991) - featuring Jane's Addiction, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Nine Inch Nails, Ice T w/ Body Count, Living Colour, Butthole Surfers, and the Rollins Band
The Beach Boys and Chicago with my mom and my aunt. It was when "Cocomo" was a big hit (you know you know the words). Then I saw Metallica at the Nassau Coliseum when I was in 9th grade. I thought it was great then but not so much now. The concerts that really changed everything for me... Going to see the Allmans every March at the Beacon Theater at least 6 times a year throughout high school.
I've sent in my application to the Real World. So I'm hoping to hear back from that. I'm putting A LOT of my eggs into that basket, the MTV basket. I'm also thinking about getting a gun, and dealing crack. Being a crack dealer. Not like a mean crack dealer, but like... like a nice one. Kinda friendly like, "hey, what's up guys? Want some crack?"
but on the real tho my first big concert had to be Bon Jovi for their New Jersey tour with Skid Row as an opener i was like in the 5th grade or something brocking out to YOUTH GONE WILD
in utero ('86): the fabulous thunderbirds and stevie ray vaughan, utica, ny my first ('88): the fabulous thunderbirds, syracuse, ny the first i remember ('90): stevie ray vaughan and double trouble w/ eric clapton, robert cray, buddy guy and jimmie vaughn, east troy, wi -SRV's last shows. i remember this because it was my first time on a plane. my birthday is august 24 and they took me as "my" birthday present. my father was in a wheelchair so we got to be in the front. my parents made me wear earplugs and headphones. i was embarrassed.
first concert by myself ('02)- incubus (morning view tour i think), albany, ny

My first show was Bon Jovi with Skid Row opening. Also the first time I smelled that oh so sweet smell. While on the subject of first shows. My girlfriends brother was visiting a couple weeks back and told me he had never even been to a concert. It just happened to be the same night Umphrey's Mcgee was playing downtown. So, even though he resisted I took him to see UM. He absolutely loved it and has his ipod stacked with UM now.

That's really quite unbelieveable. Hope it's an amazing experience for you.
My first concert: Dope Jam Tour. August 1987. Market Square Arena, Indianapolis, IN.
Doug E. Fresh Boogie Down Productions Kool Moe Dee Ice T Eric B. & Rakim

Having traveled through JFK more times then I can count, I feel confident in saying you should be much more terrified about being there then at Bonnaroo!
