Alice Cooper, Burton Cummings(vocalist of the Guess Who) and the Dictators. Summer of 76. I can still see Alice swinging in the spider web singing "the Black Widow" That was many years and brain cells ago.
My first concert was with a bunch of friends. It was around '92 or '93 at First Ave in Mpls. Superchunk opened and I can't remember for the life of me the name of the headliner. Lead singer was a blond female and I think she went solo later on. They had a song about trees, or at least the video took place in a forest. I keep thinking it's Letters to Cleo, but I know it is not. If anyone knows who I'm talking about, please help me, it's driving me crazy!!! ??? Anyway I didn't go to see any band in particular, just wanted to go to First Ave. But I still have my Superchunk T-shirt! ;D
EDIT: I don't know what I'd do without the internet. The band I was trying to think of was Belly. Obviously, I didn't pay much attention to their set.

another oldster chiming in.... First show with my bro: Emerson Lake and Palmer with an orchestra; yep, that's long ago - 1977. Then I started hitting the clubs and discovered Black Flag, Talking Heads and The Bad Brains. Probably seen 8,000-9,000 bands since.

my first metal concert was in 1995 with Pantera and type O Negative, when i was 14 years old,but my father was a musician, so I've been around live music since I was a baby. I saw Ricky Skaggs in 1987 at the Roy Clark Theatre here in Branson, but I also went to Jazz and blues Festivals with my dad in kansas City when I was real real little, and of course several awesome Branson shows like louise Mandrell, Roy Clark, Conway Twitty, Boots Randolf, Mickey Gilley and more. My dad also worked with Shoji Tabuchi for a while later on, and he would also play at blues jams in nightclubs on his off nights, and he could also play bluegrass,jazz,rocknroll, country,and more ,he loved music.

My first was Johnny Cash and the Carter family, like 87' or so with my dad. What I remember from it was awsome. First alone/friends concert was Nirvana/Butthole Surfers/Bobcat Golthwait(?) 94' in Medford. Cobain died not too long after I saw them. One of the best concerts I ever saw.

In the early 80s, my parents took me to stuff at the state fair & the strawberry, watermelon, corn, etc. festivals. lol All that come to mind right now are Randy Travis, Bonnie Tyler (Total Eclipse of the Heaaaaaaaaart)....and Air Supply, which I saw TWICE in my youth. ;D In middle school, I begged but was denied permission to see Debbie Gibson, Janet Jackson, & the Lemonheads. (Um, not on one bill, of course. )
Finally, in 10th grade, I got to go see UB40, Us3, and someone else - maybe Digable Planets - with some friends.
Nowadays, 3 out of my last 4 concerts this past year, I've drug the parents along with me! Full circle, ya know.

My first concert ever was in 1984 jethro tull....was'nt into it much though then saw the Grateful Dead in 1985 in Philly.....WOW! It was like I found home. There's was a circle of us mall rat hippie kids in the midst of all these kids looking like michael jackson or madonna wanna bees....LOL, so when I hit that dead show it was like I finally found my people....LOL

My first concert??
Ozzy Osbourne/Prong/Corrosion of Conformity/Filter .July? 1995 Pine Knob MI -Really not a bad show, Ozzy was on his retirement tour lol, goes to show you. But he still sounded great and had Zack Wyld in the band at the time. Plus the opening bands were quite good. Ahhh the memories of going to shows with adults.

Umphree's Magee! Just last year. 17 now and my parents never played music in the house so it took me a while to get into it. Since then I've seen NMA, Avett Brothers, moe., Whigs and Drive-By Truckers.
Now you just told me that friendship is all I'm forced to repair the breech in my wall Illusions and dreams, as usual, it seems Sabra girl, they've been my downfall
Fred Penner!!!! I don't really remember it though, too young. But apparently we won a free limo service to the concert so when we were leaving everybody thought we were the man himself.......
My city also puts on a music festival every summer so I had the delight of seein' The Tragically Hip perform many times before I was a "true" concert goer.
My first real concert though, was none other than Pearl Jam. My three best friends and myself all had older brothers who were in high school when Pearl Jam broke so we were all basically raised on them. Anyways, we find out they were playing at Pine Knob (awesome concert venue in Michigan, although they have since changed their name to DTE Energy Place or something gay and corporate like that), and seein' how this was only about an hour and a half from where we lived we knew we HAD to go. The problem was only one of us had our license and he had just recieved it so there was no way our parents were going to let us drive in another country to go see a concert. Being the true music fans that we were, we decided we were going to let our parents know we were all going to stay at our friend's house to work on a project that night. So our friend steals his mom's car and we are off, an amazing ride down, listening to No Code and Yield and just shooting the shit, talking about what songs we would love to hear and so on and so forth, until we see the exit for venue. I kid you not, right at I point out the sign, our front right tire bursts and we coast to the shoulder. Now we our stuck in a foreign country, with no phone, and no idea what to do. Thankfully, another Canadian driving to the show pulls over and lets us use his cell phone. After waiting for an hour for the tow truck and paying $150.00 just so he can raise the car up enough so we can put the donut on, we are back on our way to the concert!! Needless to say, it was an incredible show and it turned me into the concert nut that I am today!!!
For me it was November 9th, 1989. I was 9 years old, and got the awesome experience of seeing New Kids On The Block. Dino opened up, and I was the happiest monkey boy ever. I'd like to think that it was the pure awesomeness of that show that got me addicted to concerts. After all, there was a 30 foot high inflatable snowman on stage as they rocked out Christmas songs in between such all-time hits like "Cover Girl" and "(You Got It) The Right Stuff"
HEADED TO BONNAROO!!!!
